- Let's let BH do the moderating shall we? And Pete, I'm making an effort to be polite here, just so you know.

If I were you, I would be pondering about how all this energy is accumulating in the climate system rather than focussing on a possible inconsistency with modelled projections.
I say possible because - as you will know from your reading of the papers referenced above - the evidence for a TTHS is actually quite good. It simply falls short of definitive.
Jus by the by, I find things like this profoundly disquieting. Not to mention our previous discussion about why 5ky old ice that has stood since just after the Holocene Thermal Maximum is now melting.
But as I have said, believe whatever makes you happy. A great trick if you can pull it off. It doesn't work for me.
I see that no comments are being allowed in Beddingtons reply.
Here is what I posted;
"You state that there is no evidence of extreme weather events being caused by global warming, which I think we can all agree on. And I guess we can all agree that the planets temperature has been rising since the end of the little ice age.
Given the little ice age ended some two, three hundred years ago, and scientists have not been able to link extreme weather events to a warming planet on what basis do you make the claim that scientists EXPECT to see more extreme weather events?"

Thank you, Peter ... but please not every day ... I have to work to keep my cat in the style to which she has become accustomed, so there's no way I could match the pace of our host (welcome back Bish ... and hope you had a pause that refreshes!) Then again, you could spend your time checking out some of my older posts ;-)
