This has to be a spoof
Just when you think academia can't get any more foolish, some obscure pointy-headed chaps manage to outdo everything that has gone before, and by a distance:
Glaciers, gender, and science: a feminist glaciology framework for global environmental change research
Glaciers are key icons of climate change and global environmental change. However, the relationships among gender, science, and glaciers – particularly related to epistemological questions about the production of glaciological knowledge – remain understudied. This paper thus proposes a feminist glaciology framework with four key components: 1) knowledge producers; (2) gendered science and knowledge; (3) systems of scientific domination; and (4) alternative representations of glaciers. Merging feminist postcolonial science studies and feminist political ecology, the feminist glaciology framework generates robust analysis of gender, power, and epistemologies in dynamic social-ecological systems, thereby leading to more just and equitable science and human-ice interactions.

"Already among the most vulnerable populations worldwide, women and other marginalized groups have been the most acutely affected by the instabilities propagated by climate change."
That term 'most vulnerable' is a reliable indicator of BS to come. It has become a trigger to me, along with such favourites as 'there is no evidence' and 'arguably'. Marginalized is going to be another. Arguably.
That first sentence, is such vague twaddle only a batsh*7 social scientist could cobble up such utter tripe.
All surface processes, are factors of other terrestrial, oceanic, aeolian, and extra terrestrial forces not least our very own Heliosphere. Altitude, Latitude, Neve accretion and consequent ice accumulation leading to glaciation, glaciers are significant of climate change in; formation as they are in deformation, movement and melting.
No comment on the other guff.
I believe that all this type of stuff is caused by the large number of people transiting through the Isle of Lesbos.
"Come and get your black bin bags
Doesn't matter 'bout your gender..."
I would recommend that much of what passes for "scientific publications" in the field of Climate Science be published in the Journal of Irreproducible Results http://www.jir.com except that the JIR requires a sense of humor which is sorely lacking in the CliSci community.
We have our own plague of Greedy taxpayer funded loonies in the UK
BBC Radio 4 Womans Hour 9 March 2016 - sex discrimination in toilets
One of the nutter's claims: "if cubicles in mens' and womens' toilets are the same size this is sex descrimination as women need larger cubicles." she did not explain why - or maybe I was banging my head on wall so hard I didn't hear her explantion.
Gives a new variation to the term "anal retentive"
The Bish & golfcharlie are days behind in their reading .
The latter asks :"Was it a feminist ice berg that struck a blow for the 'cause', by nobbling the Titanic?"

Just 3,000 years ago, King Solomon wrote, "It is better to live in a corner of the roof than in a house shared with a contentious woman." (Proverbs of Solomon, chapter 25, verse 24).
First the feminists came for my roof corner, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't hiding in a roof corner.
Then they came for my arctic ice cave, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't hiding in an arctic ice cave.
When they came for my glacier, where I was hiding, there was no was no one left to speak up for me!
Pcar, for a while I was lumbered with a health and safety job. Eventually they hired somone but some of the job I handed over to a mate. We were discussing ladies sanitation arrangements at lunch and were somewhat embarassed when the boss wanted an explanation about what we were talking about. His expression said he didn't want to know about the intricacies of the tight fit of disposal bins in the cubicles. The discussion continued and I warned my mate not to use a particular company when the contract was up. My mate said 'does the contract run for the whole period?' I smirked but didn't detect a hint of a joke in his eyes but at the long pause he sudden;y got what I was sniggering about. One by one the guys at the table reviewed the conversation and started laughing until only the boss was in the dark.
Much like may boss asking what we were all laughing about, accept that sometimes when you ask a question, nobody wants to talk about it and just hope you're grown up enough to work it out for yourself.
Design guidance for toilet cubicles, makes no allowance for different sizes of men or women. Toilets designed to be 'Accessible' are also designed on the basis of equality between the sexes. Special groups, such as children, may require adaptions to cope with the shorter distance between their buttocks and floor level.
Some men may claim they need more space to swing about, but I am unaware of any special adaptions being made.
If there is any substance in this, then us men are due for the biggest cold shoulder in history.
Fortunately, complete waste of time, money, effort, and oxygen, is not gender discriminatory.
I expect the boys behind this prank will attract some admiring glances from the opposite sex, next time they have a belly full of beers on a lads night out, preying on the gullible.
Sorry, you're way too late. The "racist" and "colonialist" nature of science has already been comprehensively "discovered".
Indeed
as prime a case of "merging feminist post-colon-ial science studies" as I've ever seen
I was very pleased to see writer, Ursula LeGuin, given as a reference. The book is a great read and deals with complex gender issues! But it's science FICTION...
I don't think it would be necessary to read the actual paper to have a fair idea of its utility. Unlike Truthseeker, I chose not to read it and the simple reason I would have that position is this - if you want to be taken seriously, write seriously. Framing anything in science in "gender specific" terms is not being serious, but I will admit it was "cute" enough to sucker financial support. But cute, witty, or gender specific, is not going to get my attention as a serious piece worth the time it would take to read and digest it.
All more re-arranging the deckchairs.....

Fantastic! Finally an admission that they are "promoting unaccountability"

If only she had managed to work in Land Rights for Gay Whales it would have a Grand Slam.
Fantastic. I had thought this type of Marxist gobblydegook was limited to the so called social sciences. For a critique of jargon/polemic masquerading as sense, the link below - from a self confessed leftie is worth a look.
