Following Ed Hawkins lovely Global Temperature Change spirograph I thought I would add a few more centuries of data. Just for balance.
I created the little video (using an iPad) based on the graph from Dr. Judith Curry’s presentation (Hannhijarvi et al slide) but it is only an approximation. Ed's version for comparison is here.
It seems a couple of readers have had a hard time following the links and locating their AR5 so here is the IPCC graph that the cartoon very approximately represents.

Ayla, don't you realise that in Climate Science, with Unlimited Computer Adjustments, there are multiple definitions of 'Blue'? Blue can be any colour you like, so long as it fits the predetermined script, and besides, any definition of blue can be redefined whenever necessary.
golf Charlie. The blue skies of climate science are a belief system. Only those in denial believe skies can be grey or black. Clouds also need parametrification until they squeak. And colour-blind computer modellers are just the boys to inflict the pain.
Alan Kendall, prior to any climate scientists being prepared to discuss "blue", they would want 5 years of guaranteed taxpayer funding, to redefine "blue", whilst allowing sufficient room to recalibrate varying shades of fluorescent pink through to luminous orange as blue, when they see fit. In this way, anything can be defined as blue skies thinking, even if it is red and green.
