Discussion > Second Oxford pub meet?
Just bumping this to say it's tomorrow.
Thursday 8th Nov, at the Prince of Wales, Church Way, Iffley
All welcome.
DR: Snap.
Thanks, Rhoda!
Pub postcode for satnav is OX4 4EF
Can't be with you tonight (partly because of going to the fascinating Frontline Club meeting on the BBC yesterday, on which I'll make some notes here) but have a great time and please buy Ben Pile a beer from me for that terrific video on wind power. I'll repay - one day :)
Heading off soon; should be there in 5-10 minutes.
Good to see everyone tonight. Kudos to Latimer for making an epic journey involving 3 trains (hope your return trip went smoothly).
@DR
Thanks, home safely very smooth...1 walk, 1 bus, 3 trains, 1 bike ride. 2 dogs pleased to see me..Much though we malign public transport in UK, they were all pretty clean, quiet, warm and comfortable. Staff were helpful and pleasant throughout. 9/10 from me.
Excellent evening...thanks for organising. The fish and chips were good too and it was great to meet some new folks.
I wonder why a background in chemistry seems to generate so many climate realists? Over 50% of those present were or had been chemists.....perhaps it is the strong emphasis on practical rather than theoretical work..?
Shameful admission. Halfway home I realised I hadn't paid for my plate of chips. If anybody, Jonathan, DR or Ben, got stuck with my bill just let me know. If not, I'll just have to go back to the pub and fess up.
Twas a good night apart from that.
No worries Rhoda, you had paid for a huge pile of drinks at the start so I sneakily paid for your chips while you weren't looking.
Well, thanks very much. Tell you what, I'll send a bag of quanta to your lab. You can't have too many.
Time to get the show back on the road? Ruth, Jonathan, Barry, Ben, are you there? Barry, why not invite Alice?
maybe Jonathan could invite Dieter Helm
Just noticed this - happy to come along, dates permitting, but somebody else can organise!
Looking forward to seeing people tomorrow!
Look out for the cover of Andrew's new book which I'll print out to identify us.
