Discussion > Climate truth and energy freedom

It's often been said that climate sceptic is too negative and weak. What do we believe in? I surprised myself with this formulation 24 hours ago. Googling "climate truth and energy freedom" right now (the quote marks matter) gives that one occurrence on the world wide web, ever.

I will use this whenever I can to describe what I personally stand for.

Comments, brickbats and improvements welcome as always.

I always think of this scene from A Few Good Men.

Judge: You don't have to answer that question!
Jessup: I'll answer the question. You want answers?
Kaffee: I think I'm entitled!
Jessup: You want answers?
Kaffee: I want the truth!
Jessup: You can't handle the truth!

The consensus bandwagon has taken the role of Jessup, thinking it was doing us a favour by breaking the rules and then giving an edited version of the truth to protect the bad behaviour. I find the old swearing in to fit the bill.

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

I don't want them to choose for me what I can handle. As such I don't get bent out of shape about being called a denier. I deny them the right to make my decisions for me.

Yes, absolutely. What I like about the first part of the slogan is that in its simplicity it includes all that. It includes someone like David Colquhoun FRS saying "Give them all the emails as well, what do I care, this is science, we have nothing to hide" in his sterling contribution to the Data Debate at Imperial in December 2011. Climate truth. We will accept nothing less.
