Ironic, really, as paper is one of the most renewable (aka “sustainable”) products we have. Doubly ironic, with it being in The Netherlands, a country that has depended, and still depends upon technology: as one Dutchman commented when I was over there, recently (and I paraphrase): “The environmentalists insist that we should allow much of our country to return to the wild. They forget that we are two metres below sea-level, and returning to the wild would be to put the land under the sea again!”

When I worked for a company that was into energy saving and recycling (from the early days) all paper was recycled. In the days before emails all internal mail was sent in salvaged envelopes from external sources. Anyway the paper re-cycling was interesting as it was sorted into quality and and newspaper categories. The quality, so we were informed, was 20 tonnes pa exactly what was purchased. The newspaper quality was a similar amount and consisted of junk mail, and technical journals, Personally I printed very little and rifled through the recycling for scribbling paper, it went back after being scribbled on.
Money made from paper and other recycling (principally Aluminium cans) went to local childrens sports groups, scouts, guides and the like.
I can't imagine that any office could operate 100% of the time on wind only, even with a car park full of Nissan Leafs (Leaves?) acting as backup.

I suspect there is a bit of misinformation here. This possibly originated at the Mail, but they are one of the few papers in the UK who will challenge the consensus if they think it is what the readers want to hear. On the other hand, they are also not beyond making stuff up...
Good on them for eliminating paper, but it would have been easier to plant 16+ trees a year...
