Do you mean 'A Convenient Untruth'?
=========
"Ghostbusters!"
Does anyone know how many millions of Dollars Gore has made by promoting garbage and fraudulent activity?
I was always intensely irritated by that title from the beginning. I doubt I was the only one. It has such a question begging, disdainful, morally superior air to it. It is similar to Black Lives Matter today.
It is the Inconvenient Lack of Evidence that was always the major flaw with this film.
Ten years on, as was predicted at the time, things have got worse.
I do not remember such a claim being made in the Oscar-winning film itself, in any case, ten years to take action to avert disaster is not a prediction of disaster in ten years.
Fortunately action has been taken, in the form of the UK Climate Change Act, and the Paris Agreement. Global CO2 emissions have stalled in the last two years and UK emissions are 28% lower than the 1990 baseline.
In the HADCRUT data, 2015 was a record warmest year, 0.43C warmer than the year AIT came out .
The world can not support 9 - 10 billion people without industry and advanced technology so you lot are trying to kill us twice over. If its all the same to you I would prefer to die in comfort.
I love industry, and as for technology, the more advanced the better.
HTHBIDI.
Phil Clarke, do you think the Oscar was justified as it had to be withdrawn from British Schools as a Judge deemed it unfit for Education purposes?
Or was the Oscar for Best Actor or Computer Imaging, or Comedy, or Propaganda, or just outstanding fiction?
Fortunately action has been taken, in the form of the UK Climate Change Act, and the Paris Agreement.Do you really live in cloud-cuckoo-land, or is the tripe you spout because it is tripe you are paid to spout? For a start, those two glowing examples you gave us are no more than mere gab-fests, with no actual substance behind them. They are the equivalent of holding endless meetings to end world poverty, yet not doing a jot about ending world poverty: they are only of use to those who want to believe that they have a use. The only reason British “CO2 emissions” (as if that is any sort of true measurement or yard-stick) has reduced is that we have exported the CO2-emitting industries, often to those countries that are not as gullible as our “political elite” and their associated hangers-on are. Why do you think that the government did nothing but yabber over the closure of our major industries? Shut them down, and you remove heavy loads off the creaking power-supply grid, as well as “reduce our CO2”. That many thousands are consigned to the scrap-heap is irrelevant to that equation.
Global emissions have “stalled”? Where does that data come from? Could you really mean that global CO2 has stopped rising? If it has, then that does NOT mean that the ever-increasing industrialisation of the world has slowed (though it may well be continuing to become more efficient, thus lowering its per-capita emissions), but it could be that the natural CO2 sources are now emitting less than the “sinks” are absorbing. Your vanity – nay, hubris – about the influence of the human race on a planetary, possibly cosmic, scale is quite astounding. Next, you will be telling us that we should be able to move the Earth’s orbit – just pass an Act of Parliament, and hold a meeting of thousands of overpaid “intellectuals” in some exotic location, and the job is as good as done…
As for your quoting HADCRUT data, I am afraid that data, nowadays, is not just being doctored, but quite blatantly butchered to fit the meme, that I have little trust in any source, any more. If I cannot see it with my own eyes, I do not believe it – 2015 was a less than torrid summer in the UK, and many other parts of the world bemoaned the lack of heat, so your claim can be taken with a cart of salt.
If Idiots like PC prevail then soon the world's biggest problem will be a lack of food. The lack of food will come about because the numpties at Paris announced that they wanted to reduce atmospheric CO2 to zero.
Oh dear.
Radical Rodent & Dung
The rush not-to sign the Paris climate agreement is on, and the BBC has failed to mention what a cold wet summer it has been so far, hoping that no one has noticed. A few days forecast to have temperatures touching 90 degrees, is getting the media excited, whilst La Nina looks to be kicking in, making it's presence felt in the USA before their elections.
It seems the planet is giving up on the concept of warming, just as Politicians are getting cold feet.
Gawd, Phil probably believes that crap they feed him. You should investigate this yourself, Phil; it's called research.

Phil Clarke, do you think the Oscar was justified as it had to be withdrawn from British Schools as a Judge deemed it unfit for Education purposes?
Wrong again. If you are interested in facts they are these: under UK education law, any materials used in schools have to be 'non-partisan'. An HGV driver named Stewart Dimmock, who it later emerged was backed by Chris Mockton, challenged the UK Government's plans to distribute AIT and tried to get it banned from schools. He failed in this attempt and was ordered to pay costs: the Judge ruled the film was ''substantially founded upon scientific research and fact' and it was distributed with guidance notes to teachers clarifying where Gore strayed from the scientific mainstream.
Robbo- aka St Mary Robinson is the Special envoy of the UN Secretary General on El Nino and Climate. Nice job, and no doubt well remunerated.
In a recent article published by the Irish edition of The Grauniad ( ie the Irish Times) she avers tht the current drought in Ethiopia is " El Nino induced" and that "The El Nino events, although natural and cyclical, are now aggravated by climate change."
Now that El Nino is over (until the next time ) perhaps Robinson can get a new position as special envoy for La Nina - another event which, although natural and cyclical, can be claimed to be aggravated by climate change - and an appeal launched to mobilise hundreds of millions of dollars needed to assist communities affected by floods in another part of the world.
What a gravy train!
Phil Clarke
The inhabitants of BH are well aware of the attitude of the government when it comes to truth.
What RR wrote, but AFAIK the global CO2 continued to rise uninterrupted. Some say the rate at which man made CO2 was rising has fallen and that natural CO2 was up because of El Nino. Almost certainly emission from certain parts of the world have been under reported. China recently bumped up it's historic levels, probably because it realised that if it ever has to decrease them, the higher they report before, the more impressive the reductions would appear. The UK made the opposite mistake. Not to mention Miliband not knowing the difference between electricity emissions and overall emissions.
As for AIT it was probably believed to be true when he first started presenting it, but his advisors would have known it was based on massive mistakes by the time he made the film. I'd bet a lot of people who were impressed by the movie still don't know what the flaws were, or even that the flaws are genuine and not denier lies.
What RR wrote, but AFAIK the global CO2 continued to rise uninterrupted.
Seems to be my day for fact-checking.
Rapid growth in global CO2 emissions from fossil fuels and industry ceased in the past two years, despite continued economic growth. Decreased coal use in China was largely responsible, coupled with slower global growth in petroleum and faster growth in renewables.

It is the 'despite economic growth' that is encouraging; previous slowdowns have been linked with recessions.
Phil Clarke, have you given up defending Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth'?
Should it win a new prize for most corrupting propaganda film of all time? Do remind us how it was financed, and how it won an Oscar?
The darling of the Third Reich for her Nazi propaganda films was Leni Riefanstahl. In her later years, she joined Greenpeace, and sued (successively) anyone who accused her of knowing anything about the mass exterminations she helped to justify.
Obviously there are some differences and similarities between Leni Riefanstahl and Al Gore.
Phil Clarke, from the Guardian
"Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, was yesterday criticised by a high court judge who highlighted what he said were "nine scientific errors" in the film.
Mr Justice Barton yesterday said that while the film was "broadly accurate" in its presentation of climate change, he identified nine significant errors in the film, some of which, he said, had arisen in "the context of alarmism and exaggeration" to support the former US vice-president's views on climate change."
Other newspapers were less selective about quoting the Judge, and his expertise in climate science.
If someone had not funded Mr Dimmock, would the Green Blob have corrected Al Gore's mistakes at their own cost? I thought the Green Blob were now trying to disassociate themselves from the Greed of Gore, but you want to defend his work, and attack anyone who criticises it.
Interesting, re: Riefanstahl, that the wife of the premier worldwide glacier boreholer, a Lonnie who won't archive his oeuvre, is a brilliant photographer. She and he were technical advisers on the 'Convenient Untruth', and were caught on tape at Ohio State claiming that a flaw in the hockey stick shown was not their responsibility.
Implicit in covering up the exaggeration? Why, yes.

Phil, you are a sad propagandist, tragic because you could know better. I suggest perusing economic cycles and the carbon cycle. It's called research.

"Lonnie and Ellen, A Serial Non-Archiving Couple" Climate Audit
Kim, Ellen Mosley-Thompson and her husband Lonnie Thompson are well known experts in the field of not remembering to archive data they have been paid for, so it can be independently verified. In fact Steve McIntyre at Climate Audit has grown quite accustomed to writing about their legendary work.
Surely their involvement with Al Gore's work of fiction is just a coincidence? The proof that Al Gore really did say all that rubbish IS archived in his film 'An Inconvenient Truth'.
Lonnie Thompson (see Wikipedia) has a long list of science awards, but no one can be sure if they were all deserved.
Heh, I've a new word, 'Propaguano'. Phil's encrusted in layer after layer, unable to free himself. Dare anyone offer him a hand out?

It's reached its 10th anniversary, and here is what it was predicting, 10 years into its future:
RottenTomatoes: An Inconvenient Truth (2006)
Humanity is sitting on a time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet's climate system into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced- a catastrophe of our own making.
If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right ...
Now we know, but still the World is trundling along with the very inconvenient Climate Change policies.
