Discussion > Steve McIntyre reviews the clinton Email debacle

Steve McIntyre of climate audit:

https://climateaudit.org/2016/11/04/the-destruction-of-huma-abedins-emails-on-the-clinton-server-and-their-surprise-recovery/

gives a very good blow by blow analysis of the Clinton/Abedin email destruction and obscuration.

He is very good.....

Even if Hillary gets away with it, it looks like a few underlings may have to pay the price....

Steve Richards, whoever wins/loses the Presidential election, this story is going to rumble on, and on. Rightly or wrongly, the list of casualties is going to grow and grow, and people in senior government positions outside the USA are likely to get dragged into it.

Hopefully another spoof "Downfall" Youtube clip will appear shortly.

Should there be some sweepstake on how long it is before Big Oil is blamed for inventing a conspiracy?

Will Obama be getting the Champagne in, so he can celebrate with Hillary, should she win? It could get expensive.

I have said elsewhere that the FBI and CIA have to have a relationship with the President based on trust and mutual respect. This could be a problem.

GC, it is interesting that the FBI director was working at the Department of Justice on a case that helped 'make him' which involved the deletion or attempted deletion of emails that were of interest to the authorities.

The last para of the post:

"I originally became interested in the controversy over deletion of emails because the issue had arisen in Climategate controversy and I recalled Comey’s connection with the Quattrone case. When I examined the documents, I noticed the apparent sleight of hand on the fate of Huma Abedin’s emails on the Clinton server almost immediately. Dealing with climate scientists over the years teaches one to always watch the pea. I had been mulling whether or how to write it up, but the discovery of emails on Weiner’s laptop, together with resulting speculation, resulted in the topic becoming of more general interest and prompted me to write the present post"

Our very own 'Phil Jones' of Climategate gets a mention towards the end.

Steve Richards, I very rarely post anywhere but here. I was intrigued as to why Steve McIntyre had got involved, and like you had to read to find out!

Steve McIntyre has an incredible memory, eye for detail and mathematical knowledge. His ability to appreciate subtle and major differences in Law and Constitution, between different countries is also impressive.

I first came across Climate Audit before ClimateGate, but at the time did not appreciate much of what I was reading in terms of names and significance. My understanding improved as I regularly found myself either following links there, or searching names and find links to Climate Audit. Then I bought "The Hockey Stick Illusion" by A. Montford!
