If you select and reject data carefully, you can find a causal link. Blurring cauasation and correlation is easily done, intentionally and accidentally. Uniting a group or population, by giving them a common enemy (whether based in fact or fiction) has been a successful strategy for thousands of years, whether the intention was good or evil. Being portrayed as the common enemy does not promote harmony.
The "Progressives" from around the world have boxed themselves into a corner. Very happy to label people "deniers" about Global Warming, with it's sinister connotations to the holocaust and yet now happy to blame all the problems in the Middle East on Israel, and those within the US (primarily) who have supported and financed Israel.
The Progressives tried very hard to blame the Syrian civil war and refugee crisis on Global Warming, but this failed, for the simple reason that it was a lie!
The Progressives have tried very hard to blame the upsurge of refugees/economic migrants from the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Coastlines on Global Warming, and those same refugees/economic migrants are upsetting support for the EU from within the EU Member States.
If only a 1% swing in support for the BREXIT vote resulted from scenes broadcast of "refugees" at Calais, by the UK's Progressive media, it can be blamed for BREXIT. None of the UK's Progressive media want to investigate those statistics.
Politically, I ought to be a Progressive, being Centre/CentreRight. Their sinister manipulation of GroupThink, has now backfired in the UK and USA, and is backfiring across the EU. Progressive Group Think does not allow Progressives to contemplate the simple concept that they have manipulated and created their own problems, by focusing all blame onto those they considered enemies, in their quest for populist support. Some time spent wandering in the political wilderness will do them some good.

Thanks, golf charlie for your welcome and for your thoughts - which, as always, succeed in bringing a smile to my (mostly) lurking eyes. Watching Kerry & Obama in the last year has been increasingly distressing - and a disaster on many fronts, not just for Israel:-(
And of course here in Canada, we have Team PMJT and their unfathomably costly and mediocre performances - on just about every front.
But enough of my whining! If I live long enough, perhaps one of these days, my hope will return! In the meantime, I'm probably going to simply carry on lurking!

No doubt this will be music to the ears of the millions of refugees that the arms, elbows, hands and fingers of the UN are all just too busy to deal with. Unless, of course, they can find an 'innovative and/or transformative' way to pin the blame on Israel or "climate change".
