Some deeper notes
For #6
MarkH picked out some key parts
Extinction Rebellion group calls for environment to be made ‘top editorial issue’"The BBC’s central London headquarters has been put on lockdown due to a protest by climate change campaigners who are demanding it uses its status as national broadcaster to declare a “climate and ecological emergency
Extinction Rebellion, a direct action group that has recently shut down key London roads, has demand the BBC makes the environment its “top editorial issue”.
Broadcasting House was locked down early on Friday afternoon, with BBC staff and guests unable to enter or leave the building while security kept the peaceful but noisy protesters away from the entrance.
Extinction Rebellion activists, who are demanding a meeting with the BBC director general, Tony Hall, said the corporation had a duty to broadcast about climate change with
“the level of urgency placed on informing the public about the second world war”.
@MarkH also made notes for #3 quoting the pages entire text after the Friday edit
Extinction Rebellion: The story behind the activist groupSo what's the movement all about?
They've blocked bridges, glued themselves to the gates of Downing Street, and closed roads, all in the name of stopping climate change. On Friday they protested outside several BBC offices in the UK, demanding that the corporation make climate change and environmental issues its top priority - in both editorial coverage and corporate management.
Extinction Rebellion's aims include net zero carbon emissions by 2025 and a national Citizen's Assembly to oversee environment work.
The campaign was launched earlier this year by Rising Up, a network of activists including former members of groups ranging from Earth First! environmentalists to the anti-corporate Occupy movement formed during the global financial crisis.
Despite criticism from some that their demands are unrealistic and their methods annoying, support has grown, with 100 academics - including the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams - giving their backing.

Subject: Interview with Extinction Rebellion Mob.I have just listened to a most irresponsible interview with a bunch of deluded and ignorant activists from the so-called Extinction Rebellion organisation. Following the day of over a 100,000 passengers holidays being ruined by a probable self-appointed ‘environmental’ activist, the BBC see fit to encourage these idiots by allowing them free air time.
These young and ill-informed people were allowed to spout their pseudo-science and pure fake facts with virtually no correction from anyone at the BBC. You supposedly have a ‘Reality Check’ team when it comes to thwarting Brexit, but where are they when these activists make claims that cannot be backed up by proper science?
The BBC are complicit in peddling these climate scare stories and therefore promote these type of direct action groups that disrupt the lives of millions. For example, the Climate Change Act is costing the UK billions a year that will have virtually no impact on world temperatures (even if CO2 has any impact on temps – not yet proven). This has resulted in higher energy costs that effect the poor more than anyone else, and a national grid that is vulnerable to mere changes in the weather. Why does the BBC NEVER cover these stories. The billions wasted on renewable subsidies could benefit the economy, NHS and social services is so many ways, yet you never cover this scandal.
How can the BBC justify NOT including any scientists who question the global warming consensus (which btw doesn’t exist). By your current rules you would not have interviewed Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, and many other trail-blazing scientists because as REAL scientists, they question the consensus.
I pay my license fee (under threat of going to prison if I don’t) yet you seem hell-bent on spending UK people’s money on promoting fringe causes that are in effect anti-British. You are no-more than a mouthpiece for environmental groups that are anti-growth, anti-capitalist organisations in another guise. Disgusting.

I won’t hold my breath waiting for a reply.
Photo : outside protesters did a photo stunt, laying on the ground wearing shrouds of the "climate dead"
..someone should get 5,000 people to lay down outside the BBC to signify the 5,000 victims of the grooming/raping gangs that the BBC and metrolib establishment suppressed reporting on
Another photo 30 protesters and 15 police
The Guardian had more photos
.. to me it doesn't seem that there were so many protesters that the streets were over run, but rather police and BBC security tolerated the protest
BBC staff video
Note how taxpayer money is being wasted cos 2 police as standing INSIDE the BBC behind the locked BBC doors , when the BBC has its own security and there aren't that many protesters.
#4 (cont) The whole context is that the protest comes during 30 hours of the Gatwick drone incident, postulated to be eco-activists closing the airport to make a protest.
Steve Brine MP @BrineMP complained on Twitter 12:28 PM - Dec 21, 2018
So here’s a good one ... @theJeremyVine just suggested on @BBCRadio2 that the drone menace at Gatwick,Twitter activists were angry that Vine seemed to bactrack on his first stance that ec0-terrorism is like the suffragettes and honourable
if an environmental campaigner, should be honoured not prosecuted.
Never mind him excusing illegal behaviour,
I’d love to see him go say that in departures.
JimS commented
I thought Jeremy Vine came very close to incitement to cause a criminal act. There was a good half-hour of the programme devoted to justifying shutting down air transport. We had that brainwashed Swedish girl, again, with her ‘power to the people’ – what about the ‘people’ that want to go on holiday or heat their homes or want to fly to heated hotels for ‘climate change’ conferences?
I get tired of £700k p.a. Vine, ‘man of the people’, telling us how he has to ‘save the planet’ for his daughters and how he can’t afford to pay for his finance plan car.
P.S. Wouldn’t a two-hundred foot high Thames Barrier have to sit in a two-hundred foot high valley at least in order to protect London? Where is that geographic feature coming from, climate change?
Think about it , those cops should be saving London from knife crime etc.
And note how when Pro-Brexiteers too twenty seconds to clear the way for an ambulance the libmob screamed "an ambulance was blocked, people could have died"
..In fact every eco-protest takes cops off the street who could be dealing with real crime
The Sun (not that I trust its reporting any more than I trust large parts of the MSM) is reporting that a motorist (who has come forward and named himself) spotted a cyclist frantically packing a large drone before departing on his bike. Even if 100% correct, it's hardly conclusive proof, but it might suggest that this was an eco-terrorist behind the disruption, because any normal criminal/terrorist (if there is such a thing) would be unlikely to handicap themselves with such a potentially slow escape vehicle. Using a bike in this situation might suggest the mindset of an anti-fossil fuel zealot.
By the way, if the Gatwick drone incident does turn out to be down to eco-terrorists, wouldn't they have done better to stage their stunt at Katowice airport as COP24 broke up and the 20,000+ delegates jetted back to where they came from (or to their next jolly, as the case may be)?
Stewgreen: Jeremy Vine has never been a patch on Jimmy Young – now, there was a man who could hold a debate and play Devil’s Advocate without getting the viewers’ backs up!
Things are taking somewhat of a downturn when a pillar of society, steeped in the traditions of British Law proposes others engage in blatantly illegal, perhaps even terroristic, acts in a foreign country. Shame on you MH. I do agree, however.
Paul H has done a more comprehensive analysis
he focuses on the BBC progs that purport to tell us what ER is. but hide the fact it is a marxist anti-capitalist org underneath.
"Extinction Rebellion are in reality little more than Wolfie Smith’s Tooting Popular Front, and should be treated with the disdain they deserve by the BBC."

Well, I'll wait and see what they find out about the perpetrators, if they learn anything at all.
However, I expect green-shirts would receive more lenient sentences in this country than many others, and they know it. That is why Greenpeace and animal rights activists have got away with so many things over the years.
We still farm animals for food and leather, but the fur-trade was intimidated out of this country by violence long ago. Animal testing of pharmaceuticals is required by law, yet companies like Huntingdon Life Sciences doing so have needed protection from intimidation. Intimidation which meant that the wussy high-street banks, multi-billion international corporations, refused banking service to HLS such that the Bank of England took the extraordinary step of intervening to offer them banking services. This kind of intimidation is still going on today, possibly more so, in the age of twitter-mobs.
Not the BBC - but - it looks like editorial guidelines might be being enforced wrt "Extinction Rebellion" - useful media on board by the look of it.
Reach PLC (a subsidiary of Trinity Mirror iirc) has a Somerset appendage who think that one man with a placard outside an empty BBC office in Bath is worthy of front page on web site for several hours ...
Yup - watermelons get support from lefty media.... can't be arsed to look but would wager my own money that that is a thing across Trinity Mirror's fleet of local rags - a campaign planned and contrived well in advance.
tomo, did you look at the guy's quality of lettering on his placard in that link? It matched his hair cut.
I know winter is always a difficult season for the global-warming alarmists, but with friends like that who needs enemies?
@Tomo that Somerset Live story is massive on twitter

MB said \\ Does the BBC smile kindly on the Extinction Rebellion?
You bet!! Compare and contrast with other protests that they don't favour.
I really don't accept that a protest designed to close down a city and stop ambulances moving about is "non-violent" as the BBC describe it. It's a non-peaceful protest. //
\\ Many of these uberclimatists are on salaries in the hundreds of thousands of pounds.
What do they think all that money represents?
Production,of stuff that's what
(unless they are burying their pound notes in the garden).
Unless these people are actively investing 99% of their salary in carbon sequestration (which they are not)
... they are simply adding to the problem they claim exists.//
The coverage is so uncritical. It's bizarre.

It does seem strange the Climate XR can suddenly appear all over the western world and no-one asks them:
• "Who is funding you?"
• "Where were you founded?"
• "How did you spread so far so quickly?"
• "What would victory look like for you?"
• "How can mitigation work better than adaptation when China, Russia and India are not mitigating?"
• "How does disrupting public transport help prevent climate change?"
• "What sort of evidence could, possibly, persuade you that have over-estimated the problem (if it existed)?"

Will @climatefeedback @richardabetts @flimsin @dougmcneall @ClimateOfGavin or any other sane climate scientist please state publicly that the claims being made by Extinction Rebellion
- that unless emissions are cut to zero by 2025 “our children will die” - are a tad bonkers? //
No one responded except a dumb sarky answer from @RichardBettsy
that's how I know we are on the right side.
XRs three core demands:
for the government to
- "tell the truth about climate change",
- reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2025,
- and create a citizens' assembly to oversee progress
Bettsy couldn't find that out with Google !

There is a video in her tweet
#1 3rd December 8:13pm BBC TV news featured CLARE FARRELL. Environmental activist, of Extinction Rebellion
#2 15,16th December BBC Radio 4 ran a kind of advert for Extinction Rebellion, with a 15 minute "Profile" of its founder
It featured Harra speaking positively about them
It also trailed their Day of Action against the BBC on Friday 21st
..... and only a few seconds of negativity about their law breaking from a Spectator writer
#3 Wednesday 2018-12-19 at 17:22 BBC created a kind of video promo for ER Extinction Rebellion: The story behind the activist group
and that was edited on Friday 12:57pm to mention their blockade of the BBC buildings
.. (To me the video page seems to be not actual reporting of an event
..but rather PR made before the event )
#4 Friday Dec 21 7 activists were invited to give their speeches to a fawning Jeremy Vine on his Radio2 show
JV first compared them to suffragettes, but during the show he must have got a message, cos he did ask a more negative question
#4.1 The show also featured a segment from the head of the Grantham Institute which is funded by the world's largest green hedgefund His Tweet .. His photo of the BBC studio blockade ..
#5 Interesting that ER claim to be moral
but this 26 Nov Guardian headline is an incitement to law breaking
"The climate crisis demands more than blocking roads, Extinction Rebellion"
#6 Fri 21 Dec The Guardian reported on the BBC blockade BBC's London HQ put on lockdown over climate change protest
I'm sure I have heard other positive coverage of ER this past week on the BBC ..maybe others can list
