Mailman,
It's probably accurate enough, but misleading. After all, it was the Daily Mail. Quick Googling:

Energy in a hand grenade: this suggests something around 250,000 J.

Energy in a lithium ion battery: Wikipedia says between 360,000 and 950,000 J/kg. So a 2 kg battery pack might well have the energy of six grenades.

But then "green" wood apparently contains about 10,000,000 J/kg, so a lousy kilogram of wood contains the "stored energy" of 40 grenades.

The power of a grenade comes from how quickly its stored energy is released.

Lithium ion batteries can't match the speed of a grenade, but that story of being trapped in your bedroom while being showered with molten metal sounded nightmarish enough to me.

Ive seen the damage and hand grenade can do in an enclosed space. I suspect the headline is somewhat over the top? :)

mailman,
Exactly. They ridiculed well-known drugs of long standing and widespread use. At the same time, they did their best to crush anyone who questioned the untested new-tech "vaccines". All this done under the banner of holy "Science". Perhaps it gives us a taste of what drove the French revolutionaries lining the scientists up for the guillotine.

Ross Lea,
That was an enjoyable read, but it was a bit ambiguous which parts were Dr Nakamura's thoughts and which were Cap Allon's (the author). Anyhow, whether or not Nakamura endorses Svensmark's hypothesis, the key point is in a direct quote where he says that the Earth's systems are vastly more complicated than our simplistic models. However, when he says the climate system:

... will be insurmountably difficult for those naive climate researchers who have zero or very limited understanding of geophysical fluid dynamics,
it doesn't need the qualifier. It simply *is* insurmountably difficult. For *anyone*.

Heard some more "rebasing" in excess deaths discussion. This time it was the ABC's Health Report. A heart disease expert was saying it was time to drop the Framingham guidelines,, that they date back to a time when people were (a) smoking, but (b) slimmer. That sounds fair enough, but why right now? Well, he watches the numbers going past, and heart related deaths had been falling satisfactorily ever since Framingham, but that trend reversed in 2020. Hmmm. No asking why that might be. Just accept it and write up new guidelines.

On EV fires, this story was linked in a comment at Jo Nova's. 1kg or so of batteries did that. Scale it up by hundreds for a battery car. Not a happy prospect.

P.S. For those not up to date with Henrik Svensmark's theory here is the most up to date offering I can find.

I was pointed to this article by Paul Homewood. I was particularly pleased to see the author supports Henrik Svensmarks theory (as am I); He is an acknowledged expert on cloud formation and fluid dynamics. I realy hope more of his kind speak up as I suspect there are many.

Robert,

"because why treat anyone with an unsafe drug?"

You know, apart from the fact the dewormer had been around for decades with well known and documented side effects...but other than that Im sure they were right to be safer than sorry ;)

"Will afford some amusement if their orange nightmare returns."

For everyones sakes I hope he does make a come back...and if not him then Ill settle for DeathSantis, who has done enough good things in Florida to warrant 8 years in the Big Guys office. The good Lord knows, the world needs either of these guys right now!

Ross Lea,
Good video. It was also pleasing to see that Codogan has adjusted his ocker affectations down from absurd to just a bit silly.

In a bygone age, new technologies tended to be tried out for a while before ramping up their use. Luckily, recent advances have brought this new approach of adopting technologies across the board and expecting their problems to be sorted out afterwards. This has brought us such modern wonders as BEVs, dodgy vaccines and AI.

mailman,
I liked this bit in that article:

because why treat anyone with an unsafe drug?
Yes. So much better to treat everyone with unsafe drugs (yes, yes, I know: scratched record).

I'm sure you're right about the Trump hatred; I think most of them would opt for another three years of pandemic mania (pandemonium?) over another four of Trump. Will afford some amusement if their orange nightmare returns.

Tomo,
EV fires break the "fire triangle" — oxygen, heat, fuel — so maybe they shouldn't be viewed as fires at all. That might be the firefighters' view. They do make dandy ignition sources for great big fires though.

Australian Bureau of Statistics is putting its spin on current high excess mortality. This bit (under "Interpreting Results") touches on something I've been anticipating:

Recently, there is a second research question of interest: 'If COVID-19 is now part of our mortality profile, should a new expected number of deaths be calculated, which incorporates deaths from the virus into the count?'. For this research, expected deaths would need to be modelled including COVID-19 in the baseline. This information could be used for planning (e.g. how many deaths are expected while COVID-19 is circulating) and give an indication of what is happening currently.
A nifty way to get rid of inconvenient excess deaths: just declare the higher level to be the new normal.

mailman

yep...

Robert

Ivermectin has dropped off the MSM radar - perhaps because it shows them to be a bunch of mendacious easily influenced whores.

Ross

The MSM coverage of the burning car carrier off Holland seems to have dropped off the radar now that the quantity of EVs on board is more than a single item (150+ on Bloomberg iirc) - rather explains the reluctance of firefighters to take helicopter rides out to try and extinguish the conflagration...

Well look at that...The Guardian ALMOST talked about something important...almost...because they very quickly moved away from what should have been the most important point of the article and completely waved their hand and talked about something irrelevant.

What was relevant is HOW almost everyone agreed that the use of Horse Dewormer was bad. The Guardian could have explored how we needed up with it being pulled completely because of bogus studies like the one they lost talked about.

Then again, if they did talk about how the dewormer get removed they might have to talk about how the driving force wasnt science but the hatred of Trump.

Man....the Guardian was so close to some actual reporting!! Soooooooo close! But couldn't quite do it.

This is a real shocker; People are in the dark about the real risk associated with EV's. Some ferry companies have banned EV's (Norway I believe).
