A while back I expressed scepticism about the "unusual clots" that were turning up at funeral homes (my reasoning being that you should expect blood that isn't circulating to clot). John Campbell has a video giving a better picture of what's unusual about these clots (based on presentations in German by Prof. Arne Burkhardt). Apparently it's proteins precipitating out as the blood cools, forming strange blobs. The proteins are attributed to the vax, reasonably enough (what else has changed). It's not clear whether they're benign in solution. In any case, if this is widespread we should expect a dramatic increase in embolism amongst skiers, etc.
Strikes me that the prevalence of these proteins in the wider population should be able to be gauged by everyday pathology labs. They routinely do ESR tests (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), where the blood is allowed to settle. I don't think they keep it at 37C, and surely they'd notice if a blob congeals out in the middle.
In other news, the ten-day process (not sure why so long) of shutting down Liddell Power Station has begun. They have already appointed a demolition contractor and, much as I hope it's a big game of "chicken", I'm afraid the government's going to let it run.

DaveS,
So cynical! This is the hallowed BBC we're talking about. Next you'll be saying that the applause for the "heroes of the NHS" had more in common with the sheep in Animal Farm than with a genuine show of gratitude for the selfless sacrifices of the health workers.
To help settle your mind on that question, This article suggests that considerable sacrifices really were made. So there you go.
Exiting ironic mode, the last graph in that article undermines its credibility in my view. The lines follow one another very closely, but it's easy to get fantastically high correlations out of *cumulative statistics* (even the climatologists don't seem to have brought that one out of the toolkit). They should have shown us the patterns in daily opoids vs. daily mortality, but I don't think that would have looked so compelling. Also could do with some context, especially before 2020.
Perhaps tomo's earlier link on spurious correlations deserves another airing.
tomo,
Yes, childish insult-flinging does seem to be most popular item on the menu. Are we in a dystopian world than none of the seers saw?
Perhaps we're closest to one of Douglas Adams's ideas: the species that developed telepathy and, suddenly being able to sense everybody's inner thoughts, had to block everything out with infinite amounts of empty chatter. We've managed to do it without the telepathy part.

The ninjas - I see the creepy little git who typed it up didn't offer many (any) examples of his chums handiwork.
- at the BBC an absence of self awareness must quite high on the journalistic talent tick box list.
It all rather smacks of pre-pubescent insult flinging

and not always by accident, one might suspect...
tomo,
Saw that article yesterday. I think they should ALL take the Shatner advice and get a life. If they find Twitter entertaining, great; if it ties them in knots, leave.
But today I followed a link from from a link from that article to another BBC article from the BBC Monitoring Team. These people don't monitor the BBC; they monitor from the BBC's hallowed halls. It's like the Goons' other village idiot who turns out to be the idiot from the other village.
As with so many BBC articles, they apparently have no idea that their criticisms can be applied much more strongly to the BBC itself. Twitter is a platform where the users choose what is published. Tricky to catch misinformation before it's out. The BBC have full editorial control over what they present yet an abundance of misinformation manages to slip out.
As for the energiewende, maybe they're hoping to reap the whirlwind...

Latest Jo Nova posting puts a nice perspective on all the western guilt — it's Aesop's the Gnat and the Bull again. (Did like one Kiwi commenter's tip that if you want to find NZ it's the little prick on the far right.)
tomo,
Hmm. How can these proteins be in solution in the first place? Maybe a translation error of suspension, but even then, why does cooling cause them to clump? More questions than answers I'm afraid.weeping for the lost climate, it shows the depth of her concern. "If you can face sincerity you've got it made".
