BBC PM prog on Radio 4 has just covered Australian warmists blaming extreme weather on global warming (cyclone, floods, bush fires, etc) with dire warnings about worse to come.

I hope everyone is complaining to the BBC about the recent onslaught of alarmist propaganda.

Wonder who he is refering to? !!!

"In closing remarks to an annual conference in London of around 300 scientific civil servants on 3 February, Beddington said that selective use of science ought to be treated in the same way as racism and homophobia"

Your Grace

On the Taxonomy thread a week ago Martin Brumby drew our attention to Jocelyn Bell-Burnell’s appearance on Radio 4’s Start the Week to trail her Faraday lecture. She used the D word and Andrew Marr checked her gently.

The lecture is now available on-line. In the first part she debunks various 2012 end-of-the-world scares. In the second she speculates on how such Apocalyptic beliefs have gained currency. Does living in the End Times bring significance to otherwise insignificant lives? Are there people with books and films to promote?

I expect the irony was unintentional.

@Peter Czerna,

Thanks for your apology - accepted. Now at the risk of inflaming a different war, I find I have no problems with security if I use a Linux based web browser. I think Mac users have the same benefit.

@Bish

Mac users are another reason why not to use flash. There is no flash viewer for Mac, so you exclude part of your congregation.

WUWT has posted some news from Politico, a blog that covers political happenings in Washington D.C. Our Federal government is in need of what is called a continuing resolution to fund its operations for the remainder of the current fiscal year. The bill that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives has introduced defunds and bans all EPA activities involving stationary CO2 sources. thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/677-e2-wire/143639-house-gop-spending-bill-cuts-funding-for-epa-climate-regs

Judith Curry has a very interesting discussion on the scale of clean energy that would be required to decarbonize the world to save it from the carbonic apocalypse while making green investors filthy rich.
