UN confirms Bangkok talks in April on top of already scheduled meetings in Bonn and Durban
Even though the Bangkok talks will gather senior negotiators from almost 200 countries, a further session is likely to be held between Bonn and Durban, officials said, after the false start of Copenhagen and incremental progress last month in Cancun."

UK Govt puts infrastructure on alert for climate change demands.
Fri 28.1.2011
The first batch in a series of reports produced by organisations which maintain national infrastructure and published by Defra this week set out potential risks and solutions.
Reports from seven organisations including Network Rail, National Grid and the Highways Agency were carried out at the request of Defra under the Climate Change Act to ensure that organisations with a crucial role in running the country’s infrastructure are preparing for the threats and opportunities which climate change will pose.
I like this bit from Network Rail.....
John Dora, Principal Engineer on Climate Change, Network Rail said: “Britain’s railway today is resilient to adverse weather but to safeguard its future we must continue to stay prepared in managing the impact from a changing climate.
Uuum “resilient” does that mean Network Rail can make repairs quicker than previously.

Your Grace: one of the joys of your blog is the intellectual calibre and expertise of many of those who comment. You do, very occasionally, have guest posts but I think there is scope for more of them. I was prompted into this suggestion by biddyb's comments on the 'Teacher training' thread: I'm sure she [?] could provide you with a substantive essay on how AGW infects local councils. And J4R likewise on carbon markets and the fraud associated with them. And Phillip Bratby could certainly do you an essay on the current status of wind farm planning applications. To name just the first three that occur to me. Titled posts with chunky essays get linked to and seen by all kind of people who would never encounter the comments on your blog in the normal course of events.
This deserve a wide circulation, getting all sceptical again....
from the Mail:
"This toxic lake poisons Chinese farmers, their children and their land. It is what's left behind after making the magnets for Britain's latest wind turbines... and, as a special Live investigation reveals, is merely one of a multitude of environmental sins committed in the name of our new green Jerusalem

Check out Autonomous Mind - The Met Office lied about the 'secret' prediction of an extremely cold winter...
An FOI request produced an mail late October, Met office to Government says No clear signals
'A slightly increased risk of a cold start, but indications of a risk (in what way?) of a mild end of the winter season.
Points out, that the BBC's Roger Harrabin is in a difficult place with this as well.
