Caroline Lucas, Green MP and leader of the UK Green party..

Caroline: “Why? Two reasons. First, climate change is one of the greatest threats to our country since the last world war. It’s not only environmentalists who are saying this. Business leaders, prime ministers, major charities and generals have all recognised the level of risk.
Second, if we are to overcome this threat – and the alternative is simply too awful to contemplate – then we need to mobilise as a nation in a way we haven’t seen since 1945.

Britain needs a “war footing” to tackle climate change and energy crisis

Mobilising the 'home front' to fight climate change
When it comes to tackling climate change, there are many lessons we can learn from the wartime generation

The mods have made an appearence about not discussing about whether climate change is happening, that is off topic.

The economic crisis has eroded the ambitions of the European Union's first energy summit next month to discuss a 1 trillion euro (844 billion pounds) strategy for green power and high-tech power grids, a draft document shows.

High-quality environmental reporting from the Indy, as usual.

The study also said that that the 2001-2010 decade was the warmest since the records started, with a temperature averaging 0.40 degrees Celsius (32.7 Fahrenheit) higher than that of the previous decade.

Need I say more?

Green scammer scammed: an Oz 'wind energy' firm has been stuffed by a Chinese bank issuing forged commercial paper. Perhaps His Grace will consider introducing a special Schadenfreude section for stories like this one.

Aired last night.
Good program going against the grain of global warming, extremely sensible and makes some pertinant points that our government should be debating so don't expect to see it mentioned in the MSM.
