The political class and its enemies

Having recently read and enjoyed (if that's the right word) Peter Oborne's rather depressing "The Triumph of the Political Class", I've wondered, from time to time, which MPs aren't in fact fully paid-up members of the self-perpetuating oligarchy - which ones shouldn't be lined up and shot.

A few thoughts:

Conservatives

• Richard Shepherd (ignores the whip, I believe)
• David Davis perhaps? He had a real job once?
  

Labour

• Frank Field
• Kate Hoey
• Bob Marshall Andrews

And what about LibDems? I suppose it's possible that they might all be non-political-class. After all you don't become a LibDem if you've a great desire to wield power, do you?

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any others at all, so it's going to be a bit of a bloodbath. There must be some more. Any suggestions?

In the recent past most of the elected Labour MPs came from a 'working' background, ie miners, electricians, clerks etc. Now they are professional politicians, path University (Sociology/History) Labour Think Tank, researcher for MP, elected Labour MP. The Tories now follow a similar route, thus very few MPs with 'work experience'. Result waves of law making and no concern for the national interest.

Save yourself one bullet:

Dr Richard Taylor, Independent for Wyre Forest, West Midlands. Retired doctor. Elected on the popular vote which kicked out highly regarded Labour candidate who wanted to close the local hospital.

627th in total cost. Spoke 31 times in debates last year (above average). On 1 Select Committee. No declared interests - share holding in health-related companies below registerable value. Has earned money from occasional newspaper articles which he said would be donated to charity.

Brings a wealth of experience on health issues from his long-term career as a Doctor. Consulted by MPs with similar problems on degrading of local hospital services.
