Mann: "Climate change is present in every single meteorological event".

This is one of the most overtly religious statements I have heard yet on the subject.

It also puts me in mind of Popper's brief remarks in Conjectures and Refutations on the typical attitude that Marxists had to evidence :

"A Marxist could not open a newspaper without finding
on every page confirming evidence for his interpretation of history; not only in the news, but
also in its presentation--which revealed the class bias of the paper--and especially of course
in what the paper did not say. "

Inevitably the devastating tornadoes that killed more than 300 people in the US prompted Newsweek to ask: “Is global warming responsible for wild weather?” The answer, it found, is “yes”.

Another Newsweek article cited “the most devastating outbreak of tornadoes ever recorded”, killing “more than 300 people”, as among “the ominous signs that the Earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically”. But that article was published on April 28, 1975, when Newsweek listed the US tornado disaster of 1974 as one of the harbingers of disastrous global cooling, heralding the approach of a new ice age.

Climate hysterics' "guilty-sinners" game is well past overtime. Cynics consider the Green Gang of Briffa, Hansen, Jones, Mann, Trenberth et al. immune to consequences of perpetrating the greatest political-scientific fraud in history, for ill-gotten trillions of dollars rule the roost.

But the generation born c. 1980 - 1990 have their lives to lead. Does anyone think that the most affluent, cosmopolitan cohort ever will engage to have their pockets picked, well-being gratuitously destroyed, by a bunch of criminally fraudulent poseurs?

When the tide shifts, as shift it will, Greenies' arrogant, corrupt, self-righteous commissars will find themselves exposed on every count. Fortunately, New York City's non-flooded subways will need token-takers.

No need to wonder why.

Gavin was more cautious than Mann and the others.

Will they kick him off the Team and let Joe Romm savage him for dissent?

@Josh: That's the one - thanks. The one in the blog appears (from here, at least) to go to an internal admin link.

Love the cartoons, BTW.

Great work, Josh. You might consider going the Full Monty and joining them at the waist.

"Mann: "Climate change is present in every single meteorological event".
What a w***er!
This man still gets to suck at the public teat?
As Kevin once said, "It's a travesty"
Different subject yes. Similarity apparent, for sure. It's a tragedy!
Mike, Baby, yo' is a busted flush and as much as I didn't once support the efforts to indict you, you have lost my support.
Baby, you need burnt. And you fully deserve it.

I'd love to see the excuses given by the great and the good about why they stuck by the ipcc revelations.
We're just generalists and have to take the opinions of scientists seriously. We have to believe them and that's why we plan to tax, unilaterally, the UK to save the Planet.
Some say that Government funding has swayed the scientific argument onto the wrong conclusions. On the contrary, when we ask our scientific societies thel say the same. "We're all doomed. Do what you must, Tax as you must. None of it matters anyway, it's worse than we first thought"
Not in their lifetimes, of course, just afterwards thus ensuring their pensions.
Haven't you noticed that their nihilism extends just beyond their salary-earnings? Haven't you spotted the sinecure that they've allocated themselves?
Global warming is the new pension fund. Lucrative yes, but only for a few. Not for those who struggle to pay the bill but no poblemo for the new rich.

And you b***ards say that you represent us?

May 1, 2011 at 12:47 AM | Unregistered CommenterRoyFOMR

They Lied. You believed them. We told you how they lied and you still believed them. We told you once more how they had lied. You ignored us again.
It seemed, to us, that you wanted to believe the lies more than what we said. I can live with that but what I can't accept is that you fail your nation. And to the extent that you will let the rest of the world overtake us from prosperity to poverty.
I understood your selfishness but I had no idea just how little you cared for those whom you pretended to represent!

I just love Trenberth...

At least David Icke agrees with all of us right minded people in that CAGW is a load of bollocks.
