Do the Team know what the words "think", "wrong", "humility" and "scientific evidence" actually mean?
Lets recount, a rebuttal paper peer-reviewed and accepted for publication by a high profile journal has to be corrected by the rebutted scientists before it can actually be published.
How embarrassing is this dirty little episode for climate science? The Team's credibility has been shredded on this one.

I'd like to see a cartoon of Dessler, the ‘Google Science Communication Fellow’, explaining how he came to be trying to pass off correlation coefficients statistically indistinguishable from zero as the basis of support for GCMs.

There are a few possibilities that occur to me:
a) It's a variant of the "teamwork sidestep", first articulated by (whoever actually wrote) the Muir Russell report. This fancy footwork (of which we see a variant in the IPCC's "principle-based ... conflict of interest" guidelines) neatly avoids anyone having to take responsibility for that which was written.
b) Travesty Trenberth™ firmly believes that there is "strength in numbers" [cf his 2010 "reconstruction" of Landsea's 2004 withdrawal from participation in AR4]. However, he could not recruit anyone on The Team to actually participate in such a public display of their despicable antics. Consequently, he decided to enlist some keeners from the minor league.
c) Both of the above!
