But Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board still found the money to employ a “carbon manager” on £43,414 a year plus a £6,078 contribution to their pension. The package would easily be enough to employ two newly qualified nurses.

And, ahead of this week's jamboree, the EU/US climatocrats are trying to assert that the costs of their schemes are small, and that renewables are not an ineffective and expensive source of electricity.
More of the voters on the street will eventually twig that they are being taken for a ride.
"A carbon manager". That's what we used to call a coal-man. £50k seems a lot to pay a coal-man.
There's a reasonable chance that these jobs (or most of them — why a NHS Trust needs eight press officers is beyond me) have a purpose though whether they all need to be separate full-time posts is probably open to debate.
As my daughter points out, it would help if they made the job titles a bit more transparent. A "leadership/management coach" is simply a training officer, and so on.
It seems that one of the main purposes behind political correctness these days is obfuscation. Call something by its proper name and people will (usually) accept it at face value.
A few days ago another academic was on the radio trying to pretend they could find the human fingerprint in geology of the earth.
So, rather than "homocene" as they want to call it ... I suggest the "lunacene". Because although we can't see the finger of humanity on the geology, we can see the lunatics running the asylum.

Perhaps a pencil sharpener monitor, but my preference would be diamond cutter and trader: better pay and perks, even more than a "carbon manager", one would hope, for the sake of the taxpayer.
If you want to see how the DECC is loading useless jobs onto industry and large companies then look at the process of ESOS here. Someone decided is would be a great wheeze to make every large company carry out and maintain an energy audit and then present ways of making cuts in energy use. From what I have read I can see that this will cost millions for companies to comply with and millions more for the EA to manage. And for what?
Yet another example that bad science and social manias have real costs.
What you all have to remember is that politics is a dog-eat-dog environment. The Welsh Labour AMs hate the guts of their Westminster Labour 'colleagues' and they don't give a toss if Millipede is getting savaged by Camoron in the House about their mismanagement of the Welsh NHS. The next Welsh Assembly election isn't until May 2016 so they will just carry on trashing it until then.

No technical qualifications
Strong political views of the left wing variety
Connections with green activist organisations
History of employment in "non jobs" (the sort where if they failed to turn up for work one day, it would make no practical difference)

Actually if we must employ people in "non jobs" then they would be doing us all a favour if none of them ever bothered to turn up for work. A lazy b*** in a "non job" would do less harm than a conscientious one would do.
Big green places jobs in a manner that at best are a form of patronage. Most so-called green jobs are straight up parasitic.
Think of jobs at green NGOs, the faux academic studies, the industries that exist only due to direct tax payer subsidies, the huge numbers of fluff workers filling in energy and enviro bureaucracies, etc.
a first step of approach would be demanding Equal Access in all these so called honest schemes.
These are all ploys of our repainted commies to get themselves and their buddies high pay jobs for their own
biotope only.
Recruitment should be either OUTSOURCED, or STOPPED and reversed to firing.
Have a law on that, and prison terms set by mansion judges: call them off their yachts and cricket greens, work to be done. This time not pandering to multiculti proud wimmin etc

Roy, quite. It would be a mistake to demand proof that these people and their organisations are productive as we are better off if they aren't.
Not likely to happen though, the problem with much of the public sector is that there is no closing of the loop - when someone is assigned a task there is no verification that it has been done properly.
The much disliked "inspector" or "supervisor" has been eliminated.

Don't forget that all of these people in green non-jobs are going to vote for the party or parties that perpetuate them. Not so daft from a career politicians point of view is it?
