Love the "Who Blairs Spins" part.

Core Blimey. Is he over egging that omelet or 'wot?

....We need to stop burning carbon fuel, and close down nuclear. We can run our cars on electricity and supply the grid with electricity stored in their batteries. Plus of course pumped uphill storage from our wind follies (especially the ones on the Fens).

'Renewables' can supply all our energy and we can lead the world in this......Think of the children.

That dog is just a shill for big hats.

not only brilliant, but scarily true

Magnificent, as always Fen!

"Echo worriers" wonderfully descriptive!

Little do these great luminaries realise but the modelling is based on creating 40% more heating than input. it's done by 'back radiation' and single -18 deg C OLR emitter claims, the latter implying it has to emit IR up and down, with down IR as a negative in the 'two-stream approximation'.

OLR = 238.5 W/m^2 + 333 W/m^2 - 238.5 W/m^2 = 333 W/n^2. 333/238.5 = 1.4 QED

Much truth in jest. As My Father keeps saying " Western World is looking like the last days of Rome" and we are close to entering AD 409 ; AD 410 was when Rome was sacked.

Charlie : "AD 410 was when Rome was sacked."

Strangely enough, after more than six years working on climate, I've finally been invited to give a presentation to a conference of academics ... on the Romans in Scotland.

Brilliant but too scary to look at in the dark. All those hideous monsters on one page is enough to give this cartoon at least a PG rating.

Headline on the BBC News website (I know, but let's pretend its viable) that Cameron is planning a big 'shake up'...
No chance, do you suppose, of Mr Potato Head being replaced with someone with the minutest grasp of how electricity is generated..?
Yeah - too much to ask, I expect...

Off-Topic but of interest here -

The BBC says Australia is running out of snow because of global warming.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p022qszr

Interesting the expert scientist consulted was Al Gore.
I believe that the BBC has new rules about who is supposed to opine about AGW/climate change.

Tom0mason: Does AUSTRALIA know it's running out of snow? Last I heard they were setting record low temps pretty much everywhere.

Jul 13, 2014 at 5:32 AM | Unregistered CommenterRhoda R

TomO,
Aussie is having a blinder of a snow season, all lifts running etc. except when they are closed because it is snowing too much for safe skiing, something about you have to be able to see where you are going or some rot.
