Prince Charles famously talks to his plants - nothing wrong with that, of course. Our host suggested a cartoon where we listen in to what he might be saying (H/t Climate Expert James Delingpole). Let's hope His Highness reads Roger Andrews too.
P.S. Is there any interest in a calendar this year? I am a bit late in getting round to it but do let me know if you would like one - I should be able to get some delivered before Christmas.

Maybe the build up of CO2 in greenhouses from talking to the plants does have harmful consequences for Royal society.

I am not anti the Monarchy, but could I claim asylum refugee status in another country, if the future Monarch places Vegetable Rights over Human Rights? It would not be as ludicrous as some of his current claims.

Got to admit that I am more than a little concerned about C4 and Jon Snow. Watched him last night in Bangladesh better known as the delta of the Brahmaputra. The report actually covered the reality that the area is sinking under the weight of sediment brought down by the river but still managed to conclude that climate change, sea level rise of about 5 inches in the last 100 years, was to blame for periodic flooding. Charlie was on too.

Nope Eugene he just talks to the the plants. He plainly doesn’t listen or they might let him know how much they like co2.

Whilst talking to my dear vegetables last spring I observed my first ladybird 2 days earlier than usual. This is proof positive that 2015 is globally the hottest year evah, and even anti-science climate change deniers must accept it. As everyone knows when the dear old Syrian climate change activists shout "helloah hack-bar", as they nip off the heads of deniers, it means "we must tackle climate change now" in Arabic.
Josh - You have captured the facial "tic" Prince Chuckles makes with his mouth sooooo well!!!! - he demonstrated this peculiar facial characteristic whenever the 'soft touch' interviewer strayed onto questions Chuckles deemed not worthy of consideration.
I was always taught that people who demonstrate non-symmetrical facial tics are not being truthful.
Now that is a surprise !!
Well he is going to be a keynote speaker at the COP 21 meeting in Paris next month. I just hope he has checked out his greenhouse beforehand.

A good enough response - but when he 'ascends the throne' there will be 'minders'. So in short don't worry. It ain't the same as when George 111 was on the throne. Remember - that was when you Americans jumped the ship!

@ Golf Charlie - I know he might well end all droughts but looking at the precedence of Royal Charlies I make this observation - Charles the first lost his head, Charles the second lost his morals Charles the third? - If he ever had it, lost the plot. Wet or dry - makes no difference.

I do not doubt he means well, and does genuinely care about the environment. But his enthusiasm has been carefully manipulated.

As an aside, I live in NZ. He and Camilla recently visited my home town. They both did a great job as ambassadors. He visited a native bird sanctuary there where his interest and enthusiasm in environmental matters was obvious. But.......then there's climate and refugees and isil an an an ...if you get my drift.
If there is one thing that is certain about Prince Charles it is that he rubs elbows with some of the most important people on the planet an thatd he is simply reporting on what those folks have to say about these matters.

I've said that very thing more and more over the past few years in the same context. I shall shed a Republican tear if she ever joins the choir invisible. Long live the Queen, indeed!
An article in the Irish Times today ( which usually seems to get most of its climate change coverage from the Grauniad) is headlined " South African drought gives a glimpse of what future climate change may bring". In the body of the article it is admitted that the current drought is the worst that South Africa has experienced since the 1930's. The headline is clearly crafted so send an alarmist message that the current drought is presaging worse to come as a result of anthropogenic caused extreme weather events - for which even the IPCC can find no evidence . Yesterday the Irish Times had four separate articles on climate change, COP21, and climate change related environmental topics - two of them with a "Road to Paris" banner. The newspaper regularly features alarmist leaders on climate change and the need to address CO2 emissions and regularly publishes letters from alarmist correspondents and is frequently a public platform for the Wind Industry lobbying articles. In Aril 2014 it published an article describing the impact of early Holocene impacts on the West Coast of Ireland as described by the Professor of Geology at Galway University. This drew letters of shrill, not to say hysterically angry responses from regular correspondents who objected to the temerity of newspaper publishing such "climate contrarian" views. This posture of the Irish Times on climate related subject is not new. A search of its archives reveals that it had published similalry alarmist articles and readers letters on the same subject under the headlines, "Do climate Changes Indicate a new Ice Age" on 14 June 1975 and " A cooling world means starving millions" on 4 May 1976. It seems quite clear that the Irish Times's longstanding posture is to unquestioningly publish whatever climate alarmist clap trap is the flavour of the time. This absence of careful, old fashioned investigative journalism appears to be the standard which is an unfortunate characteristic of the mainstream media and does no useful service to its readers - which is a shame for a newspaper with a historical legacy of robust objectivity.
But remember 'weather isn't climate' :)
DougUK - yes, I've noticed that dimsissive 'sneer' which Prince Charles exhibits - such interviews seem to be a case of:
'Look, you're very lucky to be invited into my sitting room and to be in my presence, so just be a good girly, sit there in absolute awe of me, and only ask questions which I can answer with apparently authoritative emphasis..

Heh, the Syrian drought excuse is that warming and hunger causes people to be angry and excitable. The 1941 article claims that warming causes people to be docile.
Just like CAGW, warming causes everything!
