What matters to the expert is that the audience can remember the latter, and not the former.
Climate Science experts can predict anything, provided it is worse than previously thought possible.
More funding has always ensured no guilt, amongst climate science experts.

And of course its really 'useful ' if your prediction are so far ahead in time that you will not be around to reminded about your claims and asked why you got it so wrong .
And to give climate 'scientists' some credit having failed time and again in their short term prediction they learnt that lesson and now take care to say 'by 2100' .
So not only have they got the 'head I win tails you lose ' approach to fall back on they got the 'no longer living ' get out so they never have to face their failure.
You have to ask is any other science has easy to work in as climate 'science' where as long has you start with the 'right conclusion' you cannot go wrong and your career stays on track.

they don't care. All the dire predictions of the 90s and 2000s, none of them have come true, but the self-same morons continue to spout it without question or challenge. Ehrlich is the primary example of someone who is always wrong, without fail, but who is still feted by the dour left as some sort of visionary.
It doesn't matter if you're wrong, if you are 'caring' about something, it seems.
