Quote of the day, forecast edition

A genuine expert can always foretell a thing that is 500 years away easier than he can a thing that's only 500 seconds off.

Mark Twain, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court

What matters to the expert is that the audience can remember the latter, and not the former.

Climate Science experts can predict anything, provided it is worse than previously thought possible.

More funding has always ensured no guilt, amongst climate science experts.

Being a Climate Science expert, means never having to say you are sorry, about getting every prediction wrong.

Being a Climate Science expert, means you are always taken seriously by the BBC (attempts to disprove this fact, with ever more stupid statements by Climate Science experts, have only reinforced the factual accuracy of this fact. This proves that Climate Science experts could not be more accurate, about being wrong.)

The beauty of climate science, is in the politicised heart of the beholder.

The beauty of climate science lies, is the size of subsequent funding.

And of course its really 'useful ' if your prediction are so far ahead in time that you will not be around to reminded about your claims and asked why you got it so wrong .
And to give climate 'scientists' some credit having failed time and again in their short term prediction they learnt that lesson and now take care to say 'by 2100' .

So not only have they got the 'head I win tails you lose ' approach to fall back on they got the 'no longer living ' get out so they never have to face their failure.
You have to ask is any other science has easy to work in as climate 'science' where as long has you start with the 'right conclusion' you cannot go wrong and your career stays on track.

knr,

they don't care. All the dire predictions of the 90s and 2000s, none of them have come true, but the self-same morons continue to spout it without question or challenge. Ehrlich is the primary example of someone who is always wrong, without fail, but who is still feted by the dour left as some sort of visionary.

It doesn't matter if you're wrong, if you are 'caring' about something, it seems.

▣ Bullshit is a greater enemy of the truth than a lie.

▣ Only bullshit of the highest quality is said with complete sincerity.

'If you don't like the weather in New England, wait a few minutes.'

Mark Twain summarizing his remarks at the New England Society's Seventy-First Annual Dinner, New York City, Dec. 22, 1876.

And another from Mark Twain:

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”

The Bible has an excellent test for prophets in Deut. 18:21-22:
"You may say to yourselves, 'How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?' If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him."

And another Mark Twain observation, “There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.”
