Harrabin on Facebook
Jan 4, 2016 BBC
Roger Harrabin has launched a new personal Facebook page for 2016, adorned with a picture of him taking on board the words of wisdom of climate guru Arnold Schwartzenegger.
The first post asks "Are the BBC climate deniers?". To which the answer is probably "Isn't everyone these days?"

Bad news. Richard Black was not beheaded by ISIS climate deniers as I had hoped. He's alive and working for ECIU, whatever that is. He still seems to be running the BBC, though.
"Need all @BBCNews staff to be confident abt science - lack of knowledge breeds safety-first approach ("don’t mention climate")"
Conan the Munificent.

That is a really, really interesting first post. Despite the COP21 "historic" agreement, the Green alarmists are convinced they are under siege by an implacable, demonic foe. They have identified themselves both with the victim and the lone hero battling for humanity that there can never be victory. They would cease to exist psychologically.
Orestes, Harrabin, Erhlich - what are they without the fight? Are they the Joseph Stalins or Maos of the climate change movement, unable to share the spotlight, fearful of any positive results that don't come directly from them, sure that enemies surround them and suspicious of their closest associates? Are they the eco-war junkies who cannot live without the adrenalin a close battle gives them?
The warrior who cannot accept peace destroys himself in the end. Isn't it part of the revolutionary story that says the first act of the successful revolution is to kill the revolutionaries? The fight that never ends ruins everything for everybody.
OT triggered by the photo.
The AGW bandwaggon has encouraged celebs to be part of the way they sell it. More recent moves have tried to look for people conservatives might be impressed with. I'm really turned off by this technique. I don't know how the rest of you feel but when a celeb takes a position on somthing I disagree with, I don't think more favourably towards the issue, I feel negative towards the celeb. By and large celebs are left of centre anyway, so why would they appeal to right of center thinkers?
More recently, the results from the investigation into the polling disaster for the 2015 election conclude that they did too much surveying online, whereas Conservative voters are supposed to be elderly fuddy duddies who can't operate a computer. Is there a political difference in those who would complete a survey online or in any other format with those that won't? Similarly, is there a political division between people who expose their whole lives to Facebook and those who at most use it for convenience?
Is it purely an age thing or is worldview just as, if not more important?
This all connects to José Duarte's studies into political bias in the psych fields. Do conservatives respond differently to sales techniques?
A quick scan of the facebook page shows that Harrabin is using his position as a BBC employee to support what should be a private facebook page. By doing so he is surely in breach of the BBC Charter and/or his contract of employment. If the BBC do not rule on this then it is a new strategy to allow their people to form a fifth column.
Why does Arnie have to sport such a strained forced smile in the presence of Harrabin? Presumably Harrabin selected that photo as the best of a bad lot. Makes you wonder what other people look like in his presence.
Or maybe those body building drugs are now causing some form of reverse evolution.
golf charlie, he's thinking he's done his part of saving the planet by having to share the same stage with such a jerk. And the other one was thinkinh the same thing.
Fun Bad Andrew Climate Trivia:
Back when Global Warming Stuff began to be seen regularly in the news, the topic caught my interest because it seemed a scientific question to me. It was around that time that I saw a news segment where Ah-nold, when he was at some point in his tenure as Gov of Californina, got in front of a camera and microphone and said in his best Ah-nold voice:
"Da science in eeen. Man has created da Global Wvarmingk."
I've been an Uber-Denier ever since.
Conan the Barbarian is one of my fave all-time movies. Ah-nold The Human is an Uber-Fraud.

How ironic that Roger refers to himself as a journalist, a job in which you are supposed to lie and cheat to find out the truth from those seeking to hide it. Roger may one day find himself the subject of investigation by real journalists.
Fascinating that the Horrorbin has a degree in English. Must make it a bit tricky when considering scientific topics.
I am not sure that Arnie could play Conan the Librarian now. The Dewey Decimal Classes might be too much for his mental and physical abilities.
Has Harrabin observed that 'Arnold is not a climate scientist' yet? He'd be demanding the same from anyone asking Lord Lawson for his climate views.
He's a bit old for this "selfie" malarkey. I thought it was a playpen for millennials, but he's even older than I am (by 2 days). Looks very silly gurning into his iPhone all the time.
Harabin seems to have taste for pyjama patterned shirts. Or is that an eco-pyjama-shirt?
Therminator?
This would be the same Arnold Schwartzenegger who has a personal carbon footprint the size of a small African country.
You know the guy who runs a Hummer as his personal runabout anduses his name to sell car insurance.
The man who as governor of California commuted between LA and Sacramento every day by private jet.
The guy who is proud of his collection of gas guzzling super cars amongst which the Bentley Continental is on the frugal side.
The 'green' who has his own M47 tank that he uses to crush cars for fun.
Harrabin worships a prize hypocrite - by their friends you shall know them
It is a good question to ask about the whole issue, why don't those who say that they believe it act as though they believe it? This is not just a question for the celebs and climate freeloaders but for the ordinary people who say that they still buy it. I commute by bicycle for about eight months of the year, on my eleven mile journey to work I will see about twenty other cyclists and about the same number of small motorcycles and scooters. Everyone else is in a car, not exactly a terrible eco-sin but surely a case of could do better when it comes to saving the planet.
Stonyground, it has not been established that the planet needs saving. Indeed, this big old dirt ball will keep flying around the sun, in spite of what we do.
Richard Black lite.
Stonyground, agreed but even more curious is why the warmists don't think it affects the debate. I can understand people thinking one thing but doing another but they genuinely think it doesn't matter. Their delusion stems from another, where they think industry is deliberately hiding the solutions to the energy problem. They also don't think they should go first, which is also curious when they advocate western countries leading the way. It seems that they're masters of do as I say, not as I do.
I have just had another look at that photo of Arnie, and I wonder whether he is getting into character for a remake/sequel version of Planet of the Apes. Not shaving for a week to demonstrate his loyal greeness, does seem a bit over the top, just to meet Harrabin.
Don't ask Arnold about Steroids or his dad,s Naziz past back in the 1930s or what he's doing for Father's Day this year.
PS don't ask Arnold about his private jet to Paris and back.
This is the same Arnie who was the first civilian to drive a Hummer and persuaded GM to make a civilian version isn't it?
Cardinal Harrabin writes, modestly:
"I don’t set BBC policy, but ..."
... but I've spent most of the last 20 years trying.
Is Harrabin denying having instigated the 28gate meetings?
'BBC is most trusted on Climate' : was claim made by Harra
he said "Surveys consistently show BBC is by far most trusted media organisation on climate."
I replied with the obvious question - Which surveys ? Google shows none.
He's not answered of course.
There are 2 different things
#1 Public's general trust in the BBC
#2 Climate Change
I see that a NERC report attempts to put them together to imply BBC is trusted on climate, but that seems a trick.
BUT I have so far NOT found a statistical poll
that asks the public how much they trust the BBC on Climate.
I am interested in an answer.

Now Harra has used the FB page to link to Desmog & shit stir about GWPF Will #Charitycommission release files on GWPF ?
Charity Commission ordered to Reconsider Releasing GWPF Investigation Files
The Charity Commission had refused the vexatious requests, but the ICO has now ruled against the Commission and demanded it CONSIDER releasing the documents.
