Discussion > President Trump

President Donald Trump will find the job of reining in spending on climate initiatives made harder by an Obama-era policy of dispersing billions of dollars in programs across dozens of agencies — in part so they couldn’t easily be cut.

Looks like ...

...... pretty obvious BHO won't let go

Thank you for that explanation, and the significance of pumping technology, that was the initial driving force of the industrial revolution.

The only "mine" I have ever been down is now a UNESCO Museum, Falu, in the Dalarna region of Sweden. The watery oxidised discharges were found to be wonderful timber preservatives, giving traditional Swedish timber buildings that distinctive red paint look, now known as Falu Red:

"The pigment: Falu Rödfärg contains pigment from the mineralization of the Falun Mine. “Red mull” is created from ore with a low copper content that has decomposed over the centuries. In addition to copper, red mull contains a rare compound of iron ochre, silica and zinc."

Gwendolyn. No problem, I am your friendly neighbourhood geologist - a veritable mine of information.

Mar 17, 2017 at 5:54 AM | Unregistered CommenterSupertroll

Supertroll, I wonder if any of these deep partially flooded mines would make a safe place to store surplus Climate Scientists, possibly one of the most toxic industrial contaminants invented by Mann. They could be sealed down mines, until they had reduced oxygen levels to prevent further oxidation processes, and replace it with naturally occurring carbon dioxide.

It would be nice if Climate Scientists could do something useful, for the rest of their lives.

Sorry Gwendolyn, mines already full of neutrino-searching physicists. Physics and climate science do not combine well. Both, however, are seeking the difficult to observe and measure

golfCharlie.
Will the first climate change refugees be American scientists fleeing from the harsh realities of Trump America?
Will they be treated as oppressed or economic refugees, and will France demand it Statue of Liberty back? I can imagine huge refugee camps being set up outside UEA's CRU, Exeter' Met Office and the Grantham Institute.

Admission of guilt: I didn't read the previous 650 comments ^.^ sorry!

Trump's spending plans were given in the DT today and it is a 'does what it says on the tin' budget; the EPA and the UN will be pennyless whooo hooo

I think Trump needs to rename the remains of the EPA the Science Protection Agency, to undo all the damage done by Green Environmentalists.

Supertroll, Trump should impose "No Fly" orders on Climate Scientists, and use Swat Teams appropriately. It would appear that an Independent Scotland could be stupid enough to offer sanctuary, and Gruinard needs repopulating.

Gwendolyn. S.P.A. might be a very healthy acronym, but only so long as the waters don't turn Green.

Unfortunately Trump's proposed budget will turn over many environmental programmes to state control, but without supplying any additional funds.

Oh to be a lawyer as one state pollutes the air or water of another, and long-winded litigation ensues.

Do you think climate scientists could be retasked as litigators? They would be equally useless and contemptible (of courts). Mann may already be in training.

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/03/16/white-house-budget-director-climate-spending-a-waste-of-your-money/

"White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney answering questions at a press conference, explained that the reason the President wants to slash climate funding is he considers such funding to be a waste of money."

Some people have been saying Climate Science is a Waste of Money for years.

It is widely acknowledged by 97% of Climate Scientists that Hockey Teamsters know more about everything than anybody else, even if they have to rewrite history, known science and Wikipedia to prove it.

Mann's reluctance to demonstrate this in Court, just demonstrates his modesty, and confidence in the the Legal submissions he has already made stating that he has previously determined his own innocence.

Looks like Trump isn't going to let go of BHO's snooping and disseminating covertly acquired info.

There looks to be a certain amount of unraveling going on. A sample

Now if the boot was on the other foot?

tomo, Democrats should now adopt the Nuremberg Defence, and state they were acting under orders directed by a shadowy evil force. This description would suit Trump's understanding of Climate Scientists, and nobody can really object after Mann's recent performance.

Climate Scientists have blamed everything bad on everybody but themselves. The boot is now on the other foot.

@gc

It was The Russians obviously

I feel Assange was correct (yesterday) in saying that unless the left start thinking critically for themselves - they are going to destroy themselves.

One wonders when an admission on this will be made by BHO - the distraction antics aren't going unnoticed by the population methinks - given the paucity of hard evidence that the Russians made any difference to the outcome. I spoke at the weekend with somebody who was in the USA for the last two weeks and the US domestic MSM is "full of it" apparently.

Not sure if you'd know about this if you watched the BBC

Heh, spied upon and still couldn't be beaten. The press, the Democrats, the Republicans and the intelligence community were all against Trump and they still couldn't drag Hillary over the line. Today I told a friend who believes God intervened that there is something mysteriously wondrous about it all.

Pointman has a piece on BHO / Trump which is imho worth a read

Apr 4, 2017 at 10:24 AM | Registered Commentertomo

After 70 days in office, however, Mr Trump is stuck in the sand. A health-care bill promised as one of his “first acts” suffered a humiliating collapse in the—Republican-controlled—Congress ). His repeated attempts to draft curbs on travel to America from some Muslim countries are being blocked by the courts. And suspicions that his campaign collaborated with Russia have cost him his national security adviser and look likely to dog his administration. Voters are not impressed. No other president so early in his first term has suffered such low approval ratings.

And in the GWPF-approved way, he lies regularly, about illegal votes, being wiretapped, the size of his inauguration crowd …. ….

Thoughtful editorial from The Economist:

Re: illegal voters. In the only major recount, one paid for by Jill Stein, one out of three precincts in Detroit, Michigan had more votes than voters. And still Trump won Michigan. There was little appetite for recounts from the losing side after that one.

Re: wiretapped. Try to keep up, Phil.

Phil, you can find all sorts of articles from the US press deriding Trump. You will be 'faked out' if you put too much trust in them.

And in the GWPF-approved way…
Do you have any idea how woefully ignorant that assertion exposes you as, Mr Clarke? Most on here will have already read what you refer to, and will have understood the premise fully, whereas you, in your arrogant ignorance, admit that you have not the foggiest idea what was being said.

@PC

The Economist? - that piece does rather read as "do as we say" - no? - you do know who owns it don't you? Of course you do ... Maybe you should listen to what Julian Assange had to say about the left a few days ago? - you've seen that too?
