Discussion > General Election 2017 ?

Dung, the Greens are entangled with the Progressive Alliance. Forget the Tory manifesto, keep your eyes on those MPs that have been elected with Green Blob support.

If the Conservatives get their landslide then it is ALL about what Theresa May wants to do and nothing else will matter.

I imagine the frustrated LibMob would do even more direct action and law breaking than they do now.

Remember how the prosecution of the cycling campaign guy seemed to disappear.

Case of those protestors ordered to pay costs to Ridley's coal mine tenant.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/16/labour-proposes-45p-income-tax-above-80000

"Jeremy Corbyn’s biggest trade union backer has said he does not believe Labour will win the election but would have fought a successful campaign if it keeps 200 seats, although that would be the party’s worst result since 1935."

I think this translates as "Len McCluskey is confident that his personal support for Corbyn, using his Union Member's money, will lead to a disaster bigger than Michael Foot's."

Corbynistas want to blame the media and the overwhelming majority of people, for not sharing their nightmare vision of dinosaurs ruling the UK.

but, but, but I thought we were ruled by dinosaurs??

Dung,
stop thinking like David Icke.

May 17, 2017 at 11:44 AM | Unregistered CommenterSupertroll

Supertroll & Dung, not all dinosaurs were wiped out. Some evolved.

Some did not spend too much time evolving, and founded Momentum for Jeremy Corbyn, or became Climate Scientists. Somewhere in between is the missing link, known as Piers Corbyn.

Piers Corbyn really upsets 97% of Climate Scientists, so he must be at least half right, which in Climate Science, means 95% with a high level of confidence.

Momentum blame everyone else for being 100% wrong. They never understood the fall of the Irony Curtain.

Let us all hope that by the time BREXIT is completed, and we are untied from UK and EU Friends of the Earth Drivel, there will be EVEN MORE evidence that spending Taxpayer's money to cause the variable climate to stay static, is utterly pointless.

Climate Scientists can't even prove there was a point in the first place.

May 18, 2017 at 6:03 PM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

I'm hoping that 'talk is cheap' is a tool she's using for issues like climate change. We need to adopt the European habit of agreeing with a thing, but just not doing anything about it. As gc suggests, the evidence might be strong enough when we emerge from the Brexit dust to put the issue into perspective.

Pretty dishonest tweet from BBC's Laura Kuenssberg
... "Lots of booing and jeering of reporters' Qs at UKIP launch"

Andrew Neil "BBC's Laura Kuenssberg was loudly heckled after suggesting to Nuttall that he was trying to blame the PM for the bomb attack in Manchester"
It's worth watching the video to see that clearly.

..thus people commented on Twitter
........ "It was ONE reporter and it was you LK"

..That's the level of honesty we expect from BBCNews dept when they are trying to set the agenda instead of just reporting news.

May 25, 2017 at 7:50 PM | Registered Commenterstewgreen

Stewgreen: did you see her interview with Mr Nuttall afterwards? Talk about twisting the words he uttered into what she wanted! There was not even a feeble attempt to make it looks as if she was “clarifying” what was said – it was out-and-out twisting to fit her personal narrative. Luckily, Mr Nuttall seems to be learning fast, and was quick to jump on her “clarification.” During her piece to camera, I made sure the fridge door was shut, as the look on her face could sour milk. If she is the best that the BBC can produce, then it is time to end the licence fee – why should we pay for them to fill our screens with such gross propaganda?

It is why the BBC employ her.

At least they have Andrew Neil:
"Andrew Neil: What was the foreign policy of Sweden that resulted in Sweden being attacked?"

She should try remembering that there is a reason why parents sometimes name their daughters April, May, or June, rather than December, January, or February.

I hope May decides to follow Trump's outstanding example. It is really upsetting the G7 and EU.

Since May was trying to get Trump to sign up to Paris at this meeting, I see no possibility that she will follow Trump. May has her own agenda and as I have said before she is not sharing it with anyone.

I've been tweeted directly by Jeremy Corbyn

- I do NOT follow him
- The tweet was NOT flagged as a promotion
- legal ?

I do wonder at the status of Twitter ... can they support a candidate? have they been paid to bother me with Corbyn's witterings about Saudi Arabia? It's obviously a promotional tweet - but not tagged as such.

I smell a rat

"Was it legal?"

Does your query relate to the contents of the tweet or Corbyn's ablity to contact you?

I have never used Facebook/Twitter etc, and so have no idea about levels of discretion/confidentiality implied.

Mrs May has raised concerns about "social media", and the way it may be abused by those with malicious intent.

@gc

It's an election communication from a Jeremy Corbyn account - There's 4 ways it could have been delivered.

1 - I followed Corbyn - I didn't
2 - It was re-tweeted by somebody I follow - it wasn't
3 - It was promoted (a paid ad) - these are labeled - it wasn't
4 - Twitter are tinkering with the UK General Election

I'll plump for option 4 and have already contacted The Electoral Commission

5 - The Russians are tinkering with the UK General Election :)

Come to think of it though, I don't think Putin sees much of a threat from either of the main contenders.

I could say he is having a laugh, but that would be stepping over the (old deutch) mark:
JoNova: Trump = Hitler! The word “laughter” now is code for Nazi white supremacist

No, I don't follow it either :)

Thank you for the clarification! Do let us know the result.

In the USA, many unsubstantiated accusations have been made about Electoral Interference. I wonder how much bigger Trump's win would have been, without Progressive bias and collusion?

Jun 5, 2017 at 5:03 PM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

Listening to Radio 4, yesterday, and groaned when they continue with the “Republicans in bed with the Russians” story – there has been a LOT of investigation into this by the Americans in general, and the Democrats in particular, and everyone agrees that there is absolutely no evidence of this. Yet the BBC persists with the lie. What was it Goebbels said: “Tell a lie once and it remains a lie. Tell a lie many times, and it eventually becomes the truth.” It strikes me that this is exactly what the BBC are engaged in.

Jun 7, 2017 at 11:35 AM | Registered CommenterRadical Rodent

I didn't see either of these disasters, but then, I rarely watch the BBC:
DailyMail: Day the BBC's golden girl became a spokesman for Corbyn: ANDREW PIERCE on a miserable week for presenter Mishal Husain

What is most astonishing is not what was said about her, but who said it:
"But it is her unquestioning political correctness that most exasperates some of her [BBC] Today colleagues. 'She's very beautiful and very bright,' said one, 'but she's achingly liberal and right on and doesn't have a clue what most people in Britain think.

Isn’t it important to see that SNP don’t seem to have a mandate for independence now ?
Their voteshare 37% (from a previous 50%) of the votes
