Discussion > General Election 2017 ?

B-BBC commenter claims there seems to be Stalineque large scale intimidation at universities to make sure votes were cast, and NOT cast for Tories. comment

Em that's an event from Friday 19 May 2017
..and was supposedly withdrawn quickly.

Election cheating is another thing.

See the contradictions in BBC LibMob thinking

July 2016 “New PM, but she’s not elected …WE MUST have election now !”
June 2017 “She’s been elected PM (by 43% of public), but she MUST resign !”

NEXT : “New PM, but he/she’s not elected …WE MUST have election now”
and then what ??.. if the BBC don’t approve of that one they’ll be demanding another election,

@Robert Christopher eg of cheating from BBC Radio Lincs news
June 2 : Ran a story all day about sneering at the poor tweets coming out of an official Lincs Conservative account
(which was obviously a spoof account but they didn't say that) *

June 9-11 : They put out 7 chummy tweets about "Our New Lincoln MP Labour)
..only 2 matter of fact tweets mentioned the areas other 9 MPs; all of who are Conservative
Main local political reporters retweets look like an activist against tories.
,,,,posted screenshots on BBBC

* By playing along with that spoof account stunt BBC Lincs were clearly negligent in IMHO

BBC employees - especially those working via a tax avoidance Company - can earn loads of overtime during elections.

I'm reacting to credible claims of election fraud that came up on Unthreaded

Such claims need to be documented and passed onto the electoral commission who in turn should be pressured to act.
Farage has claimed people tell him students are bragging about voting twice ..at Uni and at home

Twitter also shows me 1 or 2 tweets about students being turned down at polling stations cos there was something wrong... No obvious reason to assume they are lying.

I saw a post from someone (on a linked article, when I posted at Jun 11, 2017 at 3:53 PM) who said their daughter, at university, was pressured into voting a 'particular party' that had done well in university towns and was told that they could find out who she voted for (which is theoretically possible), but I haven't been able to find it again.

Other posters did advise that it should be reported but the original poster said that he didn't want to make his daughter's life at university any worse. I don't know that he could, as I am sure that the oppression would continue, unless interrupted by the forces of law and order.

Michael Buerk seems an OK bloke
“No one knows how many people under 25 voted ”
Is how he just opened the R4 prog
and continued
“but the accepted narrative is that young people in their droves voted for Corbyn”
Exactly what I thought ..I’ve never seen any proper evidence that young people did make a difference in the election, but the media just grabbed that narrative as if it was accepted proof.
They did this on Brexit then it turned out it was just a guess cos of course the ballot is secret

The only real thing that counts in this election is those 25 seats in England that flipped from Conservative to Labour.
Does anyone know why ?

Was it cos
#1 the sitting MP was a remainer in a Brexit area ?
#2 the sitting MP was a Brexiteer in a remainer area ?
#3 Was it product of this tactical vote against the Conservatives working ?

#4 Were they towns now loaded with students , who voted Labour ?

One thing that does not really count is the overall percentages, cos that get skewed when people don't bother to vote cos their area is a stronghold seat.

I suspect Corbyn's 40% number all come from seats like Diane Abbotts were there was kind of racist vote by BME/immigrants meaning those seats the winner got 75%-80% of the total votes.

The BBC just gushed about Corbyn Cult playing Glastonbury
Since the ticket price for Glastonbury 2017 is £238 + £5 booking fee per ticket. *
wasn't he performing for the FEW not the MANY ?

contradicting his own catchphrase of “For the many not the few.”

* (about a third of the people get in for free cos they are workers/volunteers etc.)

Common Purpose: leading beyond authority ?

"Headmasters stand accused of trying to sway the general election by attacking Tory policies.

Families were sent a series of political messages – by post and on social media – in the run-up to the national vote on June 8.

One warned of the ‘dreadful state’ of education funding under Theresa May. It was sent by heads from 3,000 schools across 14 counties.

Parents elsewhere were urged to sign a petition set up by the Left-wing National Union of Teachers.

And one school tweeted that parents should think again before voting Tory.

Official guidance states that during ‘purdah’ – the period between an election being called and polling day – schools must not use public resources to give one party an advantage.

DailyMail: Schools' bid to sway the election:
Headteachers sent out letters attacking Tory policies during the campaign

The Frankfurt School in full swing. Who would have guessed such a small cadre in the 1920s could have such an effect? That, I suppose, could be the very reason for its success, as well as giving people what they think they want.
