decolonisation in medicine

I thought it might be the operation that famous people get so they don't have to go to the toilet.

I well remember the hunt for "the list" here ... and the arrogant intransigence of the Beeboids.

A little surprised it's going on for two decades ago!

The BBC’s right think and mendacity …

Slightly surprised that it’s nearly 20 years……

Worth a read of the comments.

They’re still a it , as is seminar organiser Harrabin.

tomo,

Yes, the "decolonisation" stuff is clearly a stick to beat us with, I was just surprised it was so long established before I noticed.

That shocking YouTuber does seem to be one who suffers for his art; and while we might be numbered amongst the "tinfoil hat" brigade, he would probably see some benefit in tinfoil underwear. Could be handy at that Gaussfest too.

As for TinyCO2, I hope he's doing ok. I view him and other "believers" as victims too. While I always maintained rushing to vaccines was a foolhardy approach, I continue to see the notion that the general strategy (lockdowns, distancing, masks, etc.) having worked as the most evil outcome. Early days yet in the washup, but will we ever see a decent apology to McCullough, Bhattacharya, or even to Sweden? In the Oscar Wilde/Monty Python tradition it seems There is only one thing in the world worse than being wrong, and that is being right.

In a similar vein, I thought this article on the Broken Science Initiative was good. Malcolm Kendrick attributes more to plain money than I do; it's up there, but I'd put quite a lot down to the intoxicating delights of wielding power over people. I'd heard of Kendrick, but I don't think I'd visited his website before. Other good articles there.

And in a different vein, we have Cadogan on a quick way to extinguish an EV battery runaway. The first 17 minutes are him abusing people advocating things like liquid nitrogen. Fair enough, he's right, but 17 minutes was a bit OTT. The Swedish video that starts at that point is good -- refrigerated brine does make good sense and they do show it in action, apparently fully extinguishing a burning EV in one hour.

Brine is going to be readily available on a car transport. Not so handy for vehicles on terra firma.

Where's TinyCO2?

Professor of Oncology at St George's Hospital Medical School, London: "At the end of last year I reported that I was seeing melanoma patients who had been stable for years relapse after their first booster (their third injection). I was told it was merely a coincidence and to keep quiet about it, but it became impossible to do so. The number of my patients affected has been rising ever since. I saw two more cases of cancer relapse post booster vaccination in my patients just this last week.
Other oncologists have contacted me from all over the world including from Australia and the US. The consensus is that it is no longer confined to melanoma but that increased incidence of lymphomas, leukaemias and kidney cancers is being seen after booster injections. Additionally my colorectal cancer colleagues report an epidemic of explosive cancers (those presenting with multiple metastatic spread in the liver and elsewhere). All these cancers are occurring (with very few exceptions) in patients who have been forced to have a Covid booster whether they were keen or not, for many so they could travel.
So why are these cancers occurring? T cell suppression was my first likely explanation given that immunotherapy is so effective in these cancers. However we must also now consider DNA plasmid and SV40 integration in promoting cancer development, a feature made even more concerning by reports that mRNA spike protein binds p53 and other cancer suppressor genes. It is very clear and very frightening that these vaccines have several elements to cause a perfect storm in cancer development in those patients lucky enough to have avoided heart attacks, clots, strokes, autoimmune diseases and other common adverse reactions to the Covid vaccines.
To advise booster vaccines, as is the current case, is no more and no less than medical incompetence; to continue to do so with the above information is medical negligence which can carry a custodial sentence.
No ifs or buts any longer. All mRNA vaccines must be halted and banned now." Angus Dalgleish

Robert

guilt tripping people has been a handy repression foothold for centuries.

“When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’

’The question is,’ said Alice, ‘whether you can make words mean so many different things.’

- when it comes to progressive and liberal sloganeering it's usually with a big slab of "It's OK when we do it"

Heard an ABC radio show referring to "decolonising the book publishing industry". Rather an odd string of words. Doesn't work any better with "coal mining industry", "banking sector", "fast food industry", etc. Figured I must have had the wrong idea of what decolonising means.

So I looked it up.

I like watching the language as new words and meanings evolve (though I admit to not being keen on most of the newer stuff, like "reimagine" or "normalcy"), but somehow I didn't catch the rise of "decolonise" despite that Google search turning up umpteen mainstream references (The Lancet, no less, among them).

Handy word as it appears to encapsulate any measures taken to address white guilt. Handy concept for the activists too, since decolonisation is a process with no end; the stain will always be there. Well it might end when some new colonisers arrive.
