I see the name of the terrorist that killed children has been released. And as expected he has a typical British sounding name from Wales...which is of course accompanied by a years old photo of the murderer looking very young and innocent.

Enough to make one go hmmmmmm. Are you all enjoying your diversity?

But dont you go protesting about stuff like this that actually affects people in this country. Oh hell no, The Man (tm) will come down on you like a ton of bricks. But its ok to riot in support of Labours constituents in Gaza though...in which case the police will treat you with kid gloves while looking the other way with indifference as you incite violence and hatred against Jews for the crime of being Jews.

As for Starmer... the woodenness of his virtue signalling really couldn't be any more obvious. That's going to eventually seague into outright public contempt, displayed in a physical fashion imho - he's a prat who's not up to the job ....,.. tin eared and pisspoor situational awareness + judgement.

The MSM especially the BBC, Sly and ITV will try (are trying) to omit, flannel and misdirect - and that is already I reckon "not having the desired effect". This could get quite ugly, quite quickly.

Shame the troll isn't around to insist Joe's been victimised for a stutter.

DaveS,
That was pretty craven, even for a politician. Drive in, lay some flowers, quick photo-op, and skulk off before he has to talk to any real people. What fool thinks this was a mere instance of "knife crime". It's not about knives. Bombs, trucks, guns, knives, teeth and nails -- the common element is the monster not the weapon. Where do these monsters come from?

I thought this video of a battery fire in a lift was a bit stomach-churning, but I'm also feeling sceptical about it. The viewpoint moves from lift to corridor, so there has been editing. How much of the conflagration was a result of editing. The whole corridor bit might be acted — not much smoke in the lift when the casualty was "discovered", and first aid/last rites from a guy in scrubs?

Having just watched the reaction to Starmer's visit to Southport (more or less chased out of town) and read the comments under YouTube clips from the House of Commons on The Guardian's channel of Yvette Cooper's platitudes and Angela Rayner's announcement of even bigger new housing targets, fuelled to a large degree by immigrants, I think Starmer will have had the shortest political honeymoon in history.

Mailman, DaveS,

All covered in recent offerings at the Telegraph cartoons page.

"Black holes" are a popular theme at a change of government, especially when the previous one has been in a long time. Might as well cash in on the honeymoon period (though in this case the honeymoon metaphor is a bit weak, since if follows a shotgun wedding metaphor by which Starmer's lot got in).

The pretend Conservatives recently evicted from government were nothing if not profligate with taxpayers' money, but the "discovery" by the incoming government of a £20billion "black hole" does provide a convenient smokescreen for raising taxes to fund things like a 22% pay rise for doctors. Or perhaps I'm being cynical.

Doctors settle for a 22% pay rise.

Now all we need is for Labour to change the student loan rules to make it all those loans those new doctors took never laps. give with on hand, take 10% back with that other ;)

Also, where's all this money coming from to pay for this? Asking for a friend.

I've some sympathy for one of the jailed JSO activists. Looks like it's her mum should be doing the time.

Thought this item on Forbes cancelling one if its correspondents was a worthwhile read. Free expression of opinion as long as it's an acceptable one.

And further evidence that Australia has more than its fair share of scolds. Canberra has introduced "dob in a driver" procedures where you can send video footage of bad driving to police who can then issue penalties. That's not what depresses me; it's that so many of the commenters are so prissy about it.
