Thanks for the Egyptology link. Pretty long, and I've only dipped in, but it looks well presented. Whole series on the fall of civilisations seems apt to the times.

John Anderson interview with Alexander Downer flowed a bit better than the recent Peter Hitchens one. Pretty heavy flak from them on energy policy (particularly Aus., western EU, UK). Never been a fan of Downer, but this showed him to be more forthright and logical than I'd thought.

Yes, the BBC has been blowing its load against the wind all night and through the morning. They finally got the result they believe they deserve. Of course by the time this works its way through the various appeals the BBC will have long moved on and forgotten about their rotten role in allowing democracy to die in the dark.
