His political opponents keep fabricating evidence, and the MSM including the BBC keeps broadcasting it. I don't think the BBC has yet issued an acknowledgement, let alone a correction and apology.

I know that County and State Police are subject to more control by Local Politicians than in the UK, but still no reports of protests aimed at the employer.
As a result of the flames being fanned, and local police forces failing to cope, what is any President supposed to order local police to do? Ultimately, his option is to send in the military, and that is what he has warned or "threatened".
It was good to see footage of senior police officers removing their body armour and speaking directly to demonstrators, and the victims brother has also gone public trying to calm the situation.

Are you sure the President has any authority in this matter? The police in a city are controlled by the local municipal authorities and if they fail it should be the State and not the Federal authorities that have jurisdiction/responsibilities. Trump's threat to bring in the military should be an invasion of a state's rights.
Since so many riots, spread across the country, are involved would Trump send in the military to all? Or perhaps just to those in Democratic run states?

I have posted here over the last few years, wondering why Trump had not sought any reprisals, and it made me realise that he does snipe and shoot from the hip, but doesn't move in for a decisive blow until he has the weight of evidence to make it a winning blow.
Nobody planned Coronavirus or the death of George Floyd, but his political opponents never thought that they would need to beat Trump at the Ballot Box, they had all of their insurance policies that were going to end with a triumphal Impeachment.
I would like to know more about the issues Flynn raised with the Obama White House about China, that got him sacked then

I am fairly sure he does not, thank you! Declaring a State of Emergency etc is NOT down to the President. Neither City nor State (both Democrat) has sought assistance.
What exactly is Trump being blamed for? A dirty cop in a Democrat City within a Democrat State was not fired over previous instances?

I read a story of a conservative dressing up in standard antifa uniform, getting a pile of Trump bumper stickers then going to the local protest and putting the Trump stickers over the Biden and BLM stickers on the cars parked up. The faces on the protesters when they returned to their wrecked cars would have been a delightful picture.

George Floyd was not the only person to be killed by the US police recently; however, even if he had heard of him, I doubt Biden would ever have considered going to Duncan Lemp’s funeral.

As I said upthread the sort of people who relish arbitrary, unaccountable power over others as public servants are likely just not the sort of people who should be given those jobs.... - the job just attracts them though - like night club bouncers.
It's kindof a "Police Academy" but gone very, very badly wrong. The lumping of police together as one homogenous group is also wrong.
There is a balance to be struck - but the ability of public servants to do wrong with obvious impunity massively erodes the confidence of the public and fuck-up>>cover-up >>fuck-up ... rinse and repeat categorically is not a virtuous circle. Throw in some poisonous politics and it's a combustible mixture.
