Discussion > President Trump

Back in July 2018, The Guardian confirmed how clearly Pelosi could see anything. I expect she was convinced by Mann's Hockey Stick too.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jul/22/trump-administration-releases-carter-page-wiretap-documents

"Republican lawmakers have claimed the FBI overreached when it sought a warrant to monitor Page in October 2016, shortly after he left the Trump campaign. Senior GOP politicians, including the House intelligence committee chair, Devin Nunes, have alleged that the FBI relied too heavily on Steele’s research and did not declare in the warrant that the dossier was opposition research. "

"On Saturday House Democrats said the release of the FBI documents further disproved such Republican criticism. “These documents provide clear evidence of ‘Russia’s coordination with Carter Page’, a high-ranking Trump campaign official, ‘to undermine and improperly and illegally influence the 2016 US presidential election’,” said the House Democratic leader, Nancy Pelosi."

The absolute state of US politics....

Imagine an prospective MP doing this

- or a local councillor even....

Not exactly Malcolm X is he?

Not difficult to see the appeal of this in stark contrast to that.

According to police, 51 people were shot from Friday through to Sunday, six of whom died.

I think Baltimore would rather waste money on Climate Scientists than save Black Lives and their environments.

- a "live" event that has been recorded and edited over several weeks - just maybe?

Was it promoted as 'live'? Sherlock Trump noticed a detail ….

And frankly, she should have made the speech live, which she didn’t do, she taped it. And it was not only taped, but it was taped a long time ago, because she had the wrong deaths.

Silly woman, she said 150,000 deaths. That was at end July. Under Trump 20,000 more have died since then. You might think he would prefer not to draw attention to.... oh, never mind.

Democrat and Climate Science interference in Coronavirus still hasn't caused as many deaths as Democrat and Climate Scientist interventions because of faked up Global Warming.

If Michelle Obama’s contribution to the Democratic Convention was prerecorded and polished by multiple trials, so what? Do you really believe that speeches given live in other conventions have not been practiced multiple times and perfected by a host of “polishers”?

So good to hear that Trump took time out from a busy schedule (golf, TV watching and Twitterizing) to closely scrutinise her speech to the extent of recognising that it might not be live - that indeed she took the necessary time to make it the best she could -and didn’t it show?

GC. Just how many coronavirus deaths have climate scientists caused by their interference? Evidence please.
Has Trump caused any by his “interference”?

COVID deaths per million population:

UK : 622.37
USA : 524.08
South Korea : 5.93
New Zealand : 4.5

Source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/ (please note caveats about different methodologies)

South Korea and the USA detected their first confirmed case on the same day, January 20th. Korea had a strategy it developed after the MERS outbreak, and it put it into place immediately, approving a test kit within a fortnight and rolling out track and trace nationally within weeks, containing outbreaks and ramping up treatment. As a result it flattened the curve, limited deaths to 307 and swerved the worst of the lockdown measures that are still causing so much damage elsewhere.

The USA also had a strategy which it ignored. On January 26th Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called on Government to declare coronavirus a public health emergency. This plea was also ignored and instead Trump spent the next two months downplaying the threat, saying cases would soon go down 'close to zero', warm weather would wipe it out or it would just miraculously disappear. By April he was musing about looking into the injection of bleach as a treatment....

Clarky - if you're really lucky it'll be Tucker Carlson as POTUS in 2024 :-)

- although a riffle through the ranks of DNC foot solders is instructive.

Biden’s support team know they need to burn the Green New Deal, and chuck in as many Hockey Sticks as possible.

The Guardian reports that St Greta is going to jump up and down a lot, and probably do some of her scary starey glarey stuff.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/aug/20/democratic-platform-fossil-fuels-dismays-climate-activists

"US climate activists had high hopes for the Democratic national convention, following substantial praise for a recently strengthened plan from nominee Joe Biden and his choice of Kamala Harris as a running mate.

But a mysterious decision to dial back the party platform’s language on the climate crisis has deflated morale. A statement opposing the fossil fuel subsidies that are prevalent in US law was removed.

The revision drew criticism from as far away as Sweden – from youth activist Greta Thunberg. It marred the otherwise elevated profile that climate was meant to enjoy during three segments totaling more than 10 minutes of prime time on Wednesday night. It also underscored the obstacles ahead to significant US climate action, as advocates argue the party should explicitly demand the dismantling of the fossil fuel industry and issue a more full-throated endorsement of the Green New Deal."

In evaluating the U.S. efforts against the coronavirus pandemic, do you consider the number of U.S. fatalities from coronavirus so far to be…

Acceptable : Republicans 57%
Unacceptable : Democrats 90%

Source

So that's where we are now. An incompetent leader makes a horlicks of a response to a pandemic, resulting in an utterly avoidable 6-figure death count, and a majority of his supporters deem this 'acceptable'. Sorry (not sorry) about your Gran.

I mean, I've read a lot of dystopian fiction, but I was always comforted by the 'fiction' part.
