Discussion > President Trump
So Nancy Pelosi may impeach a President 40 days before an election, but the President may not nominate a justice 40 days before an election?
okiedokie
Well done. One would not happen without the other.
HTH.
go read up on impeachment
Still scum.

Hockey Teamsters must have celebrated her corruption of Law and Science, but, she was betrayed by William M Connolley and all his lies
Clarky can apply his talents to this quote - maybe even find the video ...
"The President is elected for 4 years not 3 years, so the power that he has in year 3 continues into year 4. Maybe some members of the Senate will wake up and appreciate that's how it should be"
and maybe this one too
"I'll be on @Maddow tonight to talk about why we can't afford to let Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump ram through a Supreme Court justice just weeks before the election."
Is this ramming through of a Supreme Court appointment the first real sign that Trump fears not winning the November election?
AK
Ruth Bader-Ginsberg looked to be of the opinion that The Senate / serving POTUS have the power to take decisions until they don't .... back in 2016, anyrate.
- but to answer your question - all the incumbents fear not winning the election which is in large part what the election process is about?
tomo. Yes, but Trump has form in the bragging department. I am really surprised not to hear that he predicts the greatest landslide EVVAR supporting his second term.
I’m beginning to wonder if the best result might be a Trump win (wash out my mouth!) but he is hamstrung by Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. Guess we would see just how clever he was, compared to Obama in a similar situation.
AK
Congress has a Democrat majority, The Senate a slim GOP majority.
Trump exaggerates / brags if you prefer - and that's a unique attribute in US politics ?
I have been thinking that Biden is a placeholder for another candidate - but he's not deteriorated as fast and as far as other individuals of my acquaintance with distinctly similar issues. After the Democrat TV debates that I tormented myself with earlier in the year I felt that he wouldn't make it this far.
If the geriatric Democrats bumbling through this campaign haven't got an inspirational and viable replacement for Biden side stage for when he drops through the floor - and the AOC / Omar et al Justice Democrats crew are the future of the Democratic Party = they are going to struggle for several election cycles....
The Democrat Party machine simply don't seem to want to let go of the Tammany Hall way of doing things.

Is this fear of US Law continuing in the same manner with the appointment of Supreme Court Judges being generated by Political fears from Democrats?

Yeah, I know, the polls got it wrong last time. But Biden's national average is several points ahead of where Clinton was four years ago.

With his family thrown in, he is getting close on fraud and corruption.
tomo. Please get up to date. Tammany Hall hasn’t existed for at least 60 years, when it was essentially destroyed by Roosevelt.
GC. On many occasions now you are making what I take to be libellous comments about named Democrats, I would surmise without a shred of evidence. This could lead to trouble for our host and the shutting down of this site if one of your targets was inclined to proceed against us.
Anyway, not a good look IMHO.

"way of doing things" ?
e.g. Pelosi's tenure in San Francisco - where she is apparently being challenged by a democratic Democrat....
Tammany Hall limped through the 50s and expired some time in the early 60s after a 180 year run.... The MO endured a civil war, two world wars and a number of deep economic crises. Machine politics has proven durability - using "Tammany Hall" is a shortcut to a style of politics....

Even with his family thrown in, Biden still remains short of Clinton levels of fraud and corruption.

And then comes the question of enthusiasm or, more accurately, the lack of it. Just one in five Americans feels enthusiastic about Biden. This figure does rise to 40% among his own supporters but even that raises an awkward point — not even a majority in Biden’s own camp feel enthused about his candidacy. This should ring alarm bells. For one thing, these are eerily similar to Clinton’s numbers in the final polls four years ago, when just 19% of voters and 41% of her voters felt this way. And for another they contrast sharply with Trump; while closer to one in three Americans feel enthused about the incumbent this rockets to nearly three-quarters of his own supporters.

It is the list of completely false allegations made by Democrats, funded by Democrats, broadcast and flogged all over the World against Trump, by Democrat supporters, including the Steele Dodgy Dossier, Collusion with Russia etc, that form a starting point for proof of Democrat hypocrisy. There has been no acknowledgement of any wrong doing or admission of fault or blame from anyone in the US. The BBC has been complicit.
Unfortunately, elements within the UK Government (elected Politicians from ALL Parties, and senior Civil Servants) are also implicated, as well as the Elite of the EU, and large sections of the MSM.
What has Trump actually done to deserve any of this? He threatened to expose fraud and corruption, and those most threatened have collaborated to frame him and anyone associated with him.
I still have no desire to meet Trump, but he no longer needs to prove why the US need him. Those that champion their contribution to the Civil Rights movement seem to be the big serial abusers of Civil Rights.
Ooops. That should read
The breathtaking Republican hypocrisy remains intact.
I see Trump is now casting doubt on Justice Ginsberg's last wishes.
