Elsewhere the latest O Keefe /Veritas fakery has now pretty much totally unravelled. It revolved around covert footage and audio of Liban Mohamed, who the piece claimed worked for Ilhan Omar's team, and seemed to show him talking about collecting hundreds of ballots.

First Mohamed claimed it was not his voice on the video, and now Newsweek reports he's never worked for the congresswoman.

Oh, and collecting ballots for others is not illegal in Minnesota. Apart from those minor details - another brilliant expose from the fearless Project Veritas!

Tulsi Gabbard (D) and Rodney Davis ( R) are introducing a bill to 'to improve the security of the mail-in ballot process.' by banning so-called 'ballot harvesting', that is collection of ballots from voters for delivery to polling venues. The aim being to help enfranchise housebound and invalid people.

Gabbard provides no examples of abuse and Davis says

We’ve seen ballot harvesting widely used in states like California and a recent court case in North Carolina outlined the clear opportunities for fraud and coercion with the ballot harvesting process. 

But there were no substantiated instances of fraud in California, and collection is already banned in North Carolina. The fraud case there came to light because the existing measures worked. In fact collection is currently banned in nearly half of states amd those that permit it have antifraud measures in place, usually restricting bearers to single-figure numbers of ballots.

It is a non-issue. I guess Gabbard is supporting the bill to deprive Team Trump of an excuse if they lose by a small margin.

Odd attempt to frame the issue. That is the overarching question? A bloke has some envelopes in a car, he claims the voiceover is not him, the commentary lies about his employment, he is not committing a crime, the videographer has a long and undistinguished of doctoring videos and other dishonest, unethical and illegal behaviour.
