Discussion > President Trump

One of the drugs taken by Donald Trump that he has touted as a potential “cure” for coronavirus was developed using human cells originally obtained from an elective abortion, a practice repeatedly denounced by the president and many of his supporters.
The drug is a monoclonal antibody cocktail developed by Regeneron. The president received an 8-gram infusion under a “compassionate use” exemption when he was hospitalized over the weekend after testing positive for Covid-19. There is no cure for Covid-19, and the drug is not approved.

From <https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/08/trump-covid-drug-developed-using-cells-derived-from-abortion>

I wonder, if the drug gets approval and is shown to work, whether all those Evangelicals currently mingling in their megachurches will find some loophole in their principles once they are tested positive. Mind you, if you can endorse the adulturous, covetous, gluttonous, wrathful, avaricious, serial bearer of false witness St. Donald, anything is possible.

You support fraud and corruption by Democrats and Climate Scientists in science, medicine, elections, law enforcement and justice.

What acts of depravity and immorality are you hoping for from a Harris/Biden White House?

I think you hit the Gwen nerve hard there Phil. Mind you, the irony button was well and truly pushed in my case.

I think that once you have shown support for AGW, all views you hold are contaminated and must be 100% wrong.

Trump doesn't believe in AGW, and any views he holds must be 100% right. Stands't reason.

Its non-sequitur day every day on BH!

I see that the highly respected The Guardian reports that POTUS is suggesting that he may have got Covid19 from the families of Losers (aka fallen military). How to win friends and influence people.

As you both seem to approve of the Democrat White House framing people, and making up lie after lie using bogus intelligence, how should Climate Science politics and Democrat politics be separated?

Philip Rucker: You appeared to accuse Obama of a crime yesterday. What did he do?
TRUMP: "Obamagate."
RUCKER: What is the crime?
TRUMP: "You know what the crime is. The crime is very obvious to everybody."

Read again Gwen, i have never offered support for the Democrats. It’s not my fight, but I do think Trump has been a disaster as POTUS.

Not my fight either, but there is more peace in the world. Trump has made the US self sufficient in energy

Gosh. Just how many non sequiturs can you string together Gwen?

Oct 9, 2020 at 4:25 PM | Unregistered CommenterAK

Also the shift towards self sufficiency in gas and oil began under the leadership of Obama; Trump inherited it. Not that either POTUS had much to do with it - it was state governments that set the scenes allowing fracking.

Oct 9, 2020 at 4:25 PM AK

How many times are you going to avoid defending the lies and corruption of the previous occupants of The White House?

If you approve of corrupting Law and science to frame the innocent, just admit it.

Oct 9, 2020 at 5:08 PM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

Believe it or not Gwen this thread deals with Donald Trump and not previous incarnations of POTUS. The Donald provides enough ammunition by himself. I could also make a reasonable case for Trump corrupting law and science to frame the innocent. And who exactly is innocent?

Based on what evidence? Democrat lies? Climate Scientist lies? EU lies? Maybe even UK HMG lies? Guardian lies? BBC lies? Steele Dodgy Dossier lies?

You have repeated that this is a Trump thread, continue to ignore all those that lie about Trump, have tried to derail the US process of democracy, and imprison the innocent based on forged evidence and corruption amongst powerful and unaccountable employees of US Taxpayers.

I can not follow the logic of your own non sequiturs, can you explain?

Oct 9, 2020 at 6:24 PM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

Amazing, all negative comments about Trump are, according to you, based upon lies and so, presumably, Trump is pure as the driven snow. Are you for real?

AK, you are mistaken in your presumption.

You get your news from the Guardian, the BBC, and from other sources that manage to escape your recollection. Could you point us to anything from the Graun/BBC that has been positive towards Trump since he secured the nomination in 2016? Or is it the case that he is the devil incarnate, and therefore quite appropriate that it has all been negative?

Oct 10, 2020 at 2:31 AM | Unregistered CommenterCharly

Charly. I get my positive slant on Trump from BH, but it doesn’t seem to ring true. Even when he speaks against AGW it’s all talk, no action (remember Red Team-Blue Team?)

Oct 10, 2020 at 6:16 AM | Unregistered CommenterAK

Charly I do hope you were using “presumption” in the sense of “A belief that is taken to be true on the basis of probability,“ and not as belief “perceived as arrogant, disrespectful, and transgressing the limits of what is permitted.”

"Amazing, all negative comments about Trump are, according to you, based upon lies...."
Oct 9, 2020 at 6:57 PM AK

Sorry, I didn't realise you still believed the Steele Dossier and all the other lies from US Democrats such as Clinton Pelosi and Schiff, that have been given full publicity in the UK by The Guardian and BBC (and others in the MSM, politicians, social commentators) in addition to the EU.

It is disappointing that your politics are so extreme that you consider it acceptable to frame political opponents, have them jailed and have no sense of remorse. Are you for real?

Oct 10, 2020 at 7:16 AM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

Round and round we go, me commenting upon some news unfavourable to the current POTUS, whereas you counter with anti Obama comments and rants against climate scientists.

"Whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.”

AK

"but I do think Trump has been a disaster as POTUS"

- care to regale us all with a shopping list of failures?

- genuine question

Oct 10, 2020 at 10:26 AM | Registered Commentertomo

Reuters tells us that one of the Trump supporters arrested for planning to kidnap Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer is a BLM supporter - /awkward/

Oct 10, 2020 at 11:57 AM | Registered Commentertomo

Short answer: he has degraded the office, rode roughshod over the norms (particularly over business dealings and taxes) and lied and obfuscated from the moment he took office. Details can be found in the MSM but then you and Gwen consider them to be lies.

I'll not waste my time, like when pointing out to GC that the move to energy sufficiency began under Obama: totally ignored.

Genuine answer.

Oct 10, 2020 at 12:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterAK

"Details can be found in the MSM" - that fountain of all that's true and good eh?

Fracking has a considerable history and as I suspect you well know - it predates Obama - only really getting the negative connotations cranked out under BHO's EPA and other activist infused organs of Federal Government after developments in techniques progressed to a point that made the recovery enhancement financially viable (or not as some visitors here vehemently argue)
