Discussion > President Trump

I see. We should be grateful that the lying criminal made it into office, as the counterfactual, hypothetical alternative would have been far worse.

Got that. Thanks.

@PC

it doesn't look from here as if you've got it at all tbh.

At best you seem ideologically blinded and/or willfully ignorant.

Pot. Kettle. LOL.

Thirsty horse, pond

I'm not an unalloyed DJT fan - the top end of Amercan politics is a complicated cesspool and the simplistic Trump hate regularly overshadows real issues - and the Clintons + chums have real issues - you deny that?

Got any examples?

The family finances of the Clintons and their personal Foundation make the Trump family seem like amateurs.

Same question.

It's not just the Foundation but the collateral damage like Comey and Mueller and the rest who perceive that they might have to be competent and honest in their public duties rather than connive, bribe and blackmail their way to a place at the trough.

I don't think PC is interested in watching the YouTube piece ....

Years ago I believed that the Whitewater and Ken Starr investigations etcetera were baseless smears against the Clintons - but subsequent events and the slow leak of information about how the Clintons operate has made me look closer and read wider - it's difficult to escape the perception that they are calculating and very slippery with scant regard for principle and ethics and any political position they take is entirely cynical and self serving (apart from Chelsea and she seems plain stupid and quite tone deaf).

It looks like quite a lot of Americans are ready for the uncomfortable truths to come out - how far the establishment will go to protect itself is still a matter of conjecture.

@PC Krugman? iirc few have got rich following his tips.... examples eh? - watch the effing video

Paul Krugman is a Nobel Prize winning economist, not a stock tipster. For the click-averse, In the linked piece he enumerates 10 lies that have been asserted about the Trump tax plan.

@PC

and Barry O'Blimey won the Nobel Peace Prize

You mistake status for competence

Me and the Nobel Committee, presumably.

As for Molyneux, I pass.

Krugman's Nobel proves the failure of Climate Scientists

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/08/13/paul-krugman-shows-why-the-climate-campaign-failed/

Perhaps it was Clinton's delusions about Climate Science Economists that led to her failure. They seem equally untrustworthy, and therefore well matched.

Why the ad homs for Krugman? Rather than attacking his ten comments about taxation lies.

I do actually read Krugman's pieces from time to time but I find the line between objective analysis and partisan polemics sometimes difficult to spot. MIT aren't in the habit of employing total dunces - although it sometimes seems to me that Krugman inhabits some ground between what most people understand as economics and - sociology.

I did like his purported assertion that Gordon Brown was "more impressive than any US politician" which has me scratching my head about both American politicians and Krugman's judgement.

@PC

Molyneux definitely has some unsavory stuff listed over there at rationalwiki.org - but is it me ... or are they "somewhat inclined" to be rational there only about people "not of the left" - just asking like... looks like 5 star arse hattery from where I'm sat with good stuff cheek by jowl with complete howlers.

I tend to listen to what he has to say (I'm not a regular viewer) and cross reference any claims he makes - unlike one Phil Clarke

And on that note , bye-bye Phil

Bye Tomo.

Shame, I was hoping for some verfiable evidence of Klinton Korruption, but there you go.

I'll have to make do with Trump is indeed an appalling, dishonest, misogynistic criminal but hey, trust me, the alternative would have been worse.

So it goes.

granted

It is in addition to the Wikileaks Podesta Uranium One stuff from 2016 though - and that lot *has* been verified but simply not acted on.

Tomo. I was rather surprised that you failed to mention the other big climate change story of the day - that Nicaragua ratified the Paris Accords, leaving Trump even more alone. Perhaps it wasn't in your paper. The Guardian covered it.
