Discussion > President Trump
Or maybe not, if you follow my thinking,
Imagine if, hypothetically, the FBI had stated
"We have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy."
Oh, wait, dang it, that is not a counterfactual hypothetical, it actually happened.
To Trumpian true believers, the Nunes memo proves that the FBI and the rest of the Deep State were conspiring to throw the election to Hillary. Of course, this omits the pesky detail that on 28 October 2016, the FBI director, James Comey, announced that he was reopening the Clinton email investigation based on what had been found on Anthony Weiner’s computer.Guess which late October event had more effect on wavering 2016 voters: Comey’s dramatic public statement raising fresh doubts about the Democratic nominee or a secret warrant against a peripheral Trump adviser?
Big yawn.
Inside The HPSCI Memo – A Key Distinction Being Conflated “Title I” -vs- “Title VII”…
The FBI were not targeting Page incidentally as an outcome of foreign intelligence collection; the FBI was targeting Carter Page directly. AND as such they carried full surveillance authority upon all of this activities, interactions, communications and contacts therein.Because of this direct approach, any group, organization or entity who came in contact with U.S. Person Carter Page was then open for ancillary review and FBI investigation. Those who engaged in contact with Carter Page became subject to surveillance and searches in the same manner as if Page was an actual foreign agent.
Phil Clarke, you never were very good at evaluating evidence. Nor is The Guardian.
According to Mann, he is now an expert on Democrat fraud, corruption and perverting evidence. He sees nothing wrong. The similarities with Climate Science keep multiplying.
Stutman, a prominent Manhattan divorce lawyer who’s not involved in the case, speculated that Weiner and Abedin might want to stay married to invoke spousal immunity.

WSJ Reports Four Separate FISA Court Judges Approved Renewals To Carter Page Surveillance…
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Carter Page was on the radar of the FBI since 2013 “when Russian spies made an attempt to recruit him.” However, for some undetermined reason the FBI waited until October 21st, 2016, to apply for Title I surveillance authority through the FISA court.Additionally, according to their reporting, after FISC approval there were three more renewal applications for a total of four submissions to the FISA court. A source tells the Journal all four FBI requests were reviewed by four different judges:

With same sex marriage now legal, Members of the Hockey Team may need to marry each other.
It would save the FBI money and manpower, by reducing the number of houses and offices they needed to bug, with reduced resources.
Trump may now be considering relabeling Climate Science as Organised Crime engaged in anti-American activity.
"Members of the Hockey Team may need to marry each other"
Intercourse Of course!
Members of the Hockey Team may need to marry each other
That did make me laugh!
Big yawn.
You do know yawning amongst Lefties is contagious.

Supertroll, the attack dogs of DNC and Climate Science have a lot in common, character assassination of their enemies, combined with allegations of conspiracy. This tends to prove their own hypocrisy and double standards.
The stains now appearing on the seats of power and wealth within the DNC and Climate Science, don't smell of CO2, but something more swampy.
97% of FBI agents want to be rid of the smells in their own offices. (I made the figure up, but it is more accurate than anything produced by Climate Science)
The Trumpinator should now blow away some of the lingering odours, of the swamp.
Court papers indicate that at least 3 journalists (yet to be named / amounts disclosed as far as I can see) were paid by Fusion GPS to promote the Trump Moscow dossier. HERE
At least two people have accused Fusion GPS of running smear campaigns by planting stories in the media with friendly journalists. Bill Browder, who was instrumental in initiating and promoting passage of the Magnitsky Act through Congress, has made that accusation. The Magnitsky Act is essentially a sanctions bill against dozens of Russian oligarchs and limits their access to Western banks. Some of the same people involved with the Trump dossier were active in both campaigns...
Associated Press have issued a retraction relating to a story about the funding of the golden shower dossier - but still manage to skew the piece....
The way this is playing out one wonders when the use of Federal agencies to spy on other political opponents (namely Bernie Sanders) is going to spill out. If one watches the Evelyn Farcas interview it strikes me that she is rather smugly intoxicated with the idea that her position trivially allows her unfettered and pervasive access to snoop details of pretty much anybody's life... the FISA court being legal icing on the cake.
I do love the smell of freshly picked, political cherries, don't you?
Cherry pie is a favourite of American elephants at their tea parties.

Care to elaborate?
Read Toby Harnden's piece in the Sunday Times today. Things seem to be going apesh+t in Republican Washington. Eaten half my popcorn already and contemplating sending out for more.

:-)
I thought it might be Toby loyally rushing to the defense of one of his colleagues ... but the piece is pretty mundane with nothing new or novel in it. It used to be known as "6th Floor stuff" at Times Newspapers (iirc)
I think Niall Ferguson provides some more evidenced and analytical opinion on the topic imho.
I think though that Ferguson is dead wrong about Nancy Pelosi's food debris problem - I think she was grinding her dentures so hard that the glue gave way.
In all at present I really don't know where it's all going - the ineptness of the majority of the participants on all sides provides too many opportunities for loss of traction / influence.
That said - one thing has been bothering me for several days.
Trey Gowdy resigning - what is that about? Gowdy is the only interlocutor seen publicly in this business who's had Comey on tip toe. The IG might have too - but we don't know what's going on there.
When I came across him ages ago (several years) - I did some research and was impressed and a bit intimidated in equal measure. He was a very successful prosecutor - but his defining quality from what I could see was a deeply serious commitment (near religious zeal) for the importance of the rule of law in human affairs coupled with an attention to verifiable details that drove his insistence that law had to be applied properly and justice had to be achieved via near total transparency. Gowdy has seen lots more of the case evidence than most of his colleagues - His resignation is odd...
a) He has pressing personal issues?
b) He has seen too much - and knows that Trump / GOP are screwed?
c) He has been burned out by Washington intrigue (high ideals foundering on squalid reality)?
d) He is stepping back in order to return to the law in a way that will not please Democrats?
Option d) has the Washington gossip mill at fever pitch (law maker returns to law enforcement) - but I think the other 3 options are more likely.
In all - the whole thing is more absorbing than binge watching "LA Law" boxed set or"Game of Thrones"
Popcorn producers are undoubtedly doing rather well at the moment - any shortage will likely be blamed on AGW and Trump by the usual suspects.

The Fusion GPS bullsh¡t with extra relish supplied by British Steele, was originally fabricated by Republicans opposed to Trump.
This is not just Democrats v Republicans, but Republicans v Republicans and Democrats v Democrats. It all stinks of poo, with Trump smelling of roses, especially because he has not retaliated over the last 18 months. Democrats AND Republicans may now unite to clear their respective swamps. Trump may have stated that he did not want St Hillary behind bars, but it may not be his decision to prosecute.
The Democrats must be rueing the day they picked a pickled Cherry to stand against Trump. Bernie Sanders can now write his memoirs, knowing he was right, and never proved wrong.
The Republicans may ask McCain to give an accurate account of his actions.
Pelosi has shot herself. Schiff has too, but also damaged Democrats in California.
Trey Gowdy may have retired from politics, but remains a powerful force and potential leader for a few decades. This would fit with all of tomo's 4 options.
Trump will want maximum turmoil amongst Democrats, their personal Lawyers and the Criminal Justice systems, to run through the mid-term elections and beyond. McCain supporting Republicans could cause more damage to Republicans.
Climate Science is going to lose, and Mann's tweeties about the Nune's memo, will be regretted by his colleagues.
gc
The more I hear about McCain the more I wonder what he's doing in the Republican Party. His association with George Soros is really weird.
If the Democrat party is as broke financially as some are saying - their only lifeline might well be Soros funding.... and that probably isn't a good thing for keeping the peace in the USofA
Mann is a prat - but a careful enough prat to cultivate those with investments in his fraud...
McCain has had his chips with Republicans. If he has been drawn in by Soros, and his money, he would not be the first to be skewered. Soros drove the collapse of sterling and the ERM farce. Strange he is supporting EU unity, having caused so many problems, and so much mistrust.
If any smear lands on political backers, it discredits the backers too. If Soros has been buying support amongst both US Political Parties, and their Presidential candidates, and doing the same in the EU, whilst funding Climate Science, it would be no surprise. Supporting progressive socialism for his personal capitalist greed, has been his speciality.
If the current US Democrats had not abandoned their blue collar supporters, they would not have supported Climate Science. Same within the EU. Soros makes money out of money, not industry.
Evelyn Farcas from last year
One gets the feeling that snooping by Obamah's officials was so commonplace they let this eejit in on it.
I can rather easily imagine she wouldn't last very long being questioned by Trey Gowdy :-)

If that is not enough, Clinton had Podesta ...

"Mr. Podesta came with a strategy he and Ms. Wartell had outlined in a 2010 report about how a president could use his executive authority more aggressively without waiting for Congress. He also took on select projects, notably climate change and privacy in a big-data world."
His association with privacy and hiding big-data???????????
