Mailman:
>Hamas most certainly COULD build its on power generation and water plants with the BILLIONS given to it by the international community and Iran these last two decades.<

Hamas was helped and funded by Israel since the late 70's.

What do you know about Hamas?

That it’s sworn to destroy Israel? That it’s a terrorist group, proscribed both by the United States and the European Union? That it rules Gaza with an iron fist? That it’s killed hundreds of innocent Israelis with rocket, mortar, and suicide attacks?

But did you also know that Hamas — which is an Arabic acronym for “Islamic Resistance Movement” — would probably not exist today were it not for the Jewish state? That the Israelis helped turn a bunch of fringe Palestinian Islamists in the late 1970s into one of the world’s most notorious militant groups? That Hamas is blowback?

This isn’t a conspiracy theory. Listen to former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s. Segev later told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat (who himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel.”)

“The Israeli government gave me a budget,” the retired brigadier general confessed, “and the military government gives to the mosques.”

“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009. Back in the mid-1980s, Cohen even wrote an official report to his superiors warning them not to play divide-and-rule in the Occupied Territories, by backing Palestinian Islamists against Palestinian secularists. “I … suggest focusing our efforts on finding ways to break up this monster before this reality jumps in our face,” he wrote.

“Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas,” Netanyahu told his Likud party’s Knesset members in March 2019. “This is part of our strategy"

At the risk of ranting....this is the thing that really, really, reeeeeeeally gets on my tits about the Chinese Death Kooties. We knew from the very beginning that if you were fit, healthy and active that you were pretty much safe from sudden death syndrome thanks to Chinese Death Kooties.

The data itself did not lie and was evident very quickly AND it was initially very easy to find on ONS. Those at risk were fat kients with multiple serious health risks and children were practically immune.

However now....now everyones been shot up the eyeballs with the Chinese Death Kooties "vaccine" there seems to be a lot of "unexpectedly" and "sudden onset of death" going on within very fit and active groups. Wonder what happened post 2020 that might lead to this sudden onset syndrome eh?

Tomo,

The Chinese Death Kooties inquiry seems to be nothing more than a distraction for stupid people. I couldn't give a f88k what Boris said or who was doing what or should have been doing or said mean things in the cabinet. Could. Not. give. A. Monkey!

What I do want to know is how in Gods name we ended up in the situation of trusting some guys model that, Im assuming no ones really managed to get to the bottom of how it works given how its just disappeared from the face of the planet, the end of times was only a matter of days away if we didnt close down the entire f99king country for two weeks.

This inquiry seems more to be about destroying Boris than getting any answers to any real questions.

I got it wrong with the heads on spikes thing - I searched my browsing history etc. and didn't find it - but I see WUWT caught Andrew “Twiggy” Forest ....

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2023/10/29/more-climate-violence-rhetoric-when-it-is-time-to-put-heads-on-spikes/

Apologies - flat out wrong accusation there

In the UK we're seeing quite a lot of mob Jew hate doing the rounds in urban centres and our police with a few exceptions (brave! in the wildly hyped climate wrt Gaza) are simply making it a LOT worse. The BBC are simply a bunch of total stinkers on this topic as on so many others

The COVID inquiry rumbles along and the utter incompetence and hubris of the political class, the medical establishment, public servants and media shines through spiced with some power crazed fools and worse. I wouldn't trust most of them to run a bath.

CS Lewis got it right: "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.....Those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

- which works only if you actually have a conscience.

elsewhere

there's been an outbreak of Clouseau detectiveness going on at the UK's National Crime Agency

tomo,
Thanks. Pratt used to seem reasonably sensible — I think he was friends with Trump at one stage — time can bring wisdom, but sometimes it takes it away.

The Oz commies:

But this is a smokescreen to protect the fossil fuel industry from blame. In a just society, these climate vandals, who have known about the greenhouse effect for decades, would be held responsible...
I suppose everything's simple to the simple-minded. Does it never occur to the members that each barrel of oil sold is also a barrel of oil bought, and that wiping out the fossil fuel industry would also wipe out every other industry.

I guess the high-ups know it: there is truth in the organisation's name: Blockade Australia.

Presumably that welfare slip is only denominated in tiny little euros. If it were in pounds it might be worth my venturing a trip from Australia. In euros it won't draw from too much further away than Africa.

husq,
Demands for consistency aren't very compelling: the details differ enormously. It's not just in medical matters that I'll press "N=1".

Enjoyed the video, particularly Kirby's crocodile tears over Ukrainian civilians: fake sincerity at its most artificial. The video's argument wasn't great though. "International law" is just a stick for political use. It's nice to think of laws and police and gaols at the international level, but at best it's metaphorical. The real international law is might makes right. Who's going to imprison China, say?

And that point is also hit tangentially in the Tucker Carlson, Nigel Farage interview (linked by tomo) when they ask how many Gaza refugees will China take? That the answer is about the same number as the Saudis suggests the justice of the Palestinians' cause might depend heavily on where you stand.

iirc Yasser Arafat wasn't short of a few bob when he shuffled off his mortal coil

Seeing claims that present crew are following the saintly Yasser's example.

Husq,

Hamas most certainly COULD build its on power generation and water plants with the BILLIONS given to it by the international community and Iran these last two decades.

Sadly for the people of Gaza Hamas would rather use that money to kill Jews indiscriminately where ever they can find them.

So Ill not be weeping tears for a people who have never missed a chance to miss a chance.
