"Anyone who criticises Trump is deranged and Nancy Pelosi has funny teeth.
Don, did you do your homework?
No, Miss, but nor did Bernie or Joe so its OK.
Do I have to remind you that you are meant to be class captain?

Not directly DJT , but some China background.

re: wrong link to Winston Sterzel commentary on China - as of yesterday...

The video still exists but it's disappeared from the listing on the podcast page for me at anyrate....

What's curious and largely unreported in MSM is that the Chinese Communist Party (as opposed to "Chinese people") are fomenting widespread xenophobia and racism with respect to non-Chinese, i.e. "foreign devils" with foreigners being harassed domestically and turned away from places like shopping malls and put into quarantine arbitrarily on arriving in China...(at the traveller's own cost)

Long time since I read anything about it but ADVChina podcast suggested it was time for a bit of background especially The Boxer Rebellion - interesting, but not in a good way..... I wonder if it'll pop up on The Guardian's radar - them being experts on 'bias and 'isms.

tomo, the history of China shows very long periods of time when all foreigners were mistrusted and/or banned. Since Mao and His Little Red Book departed, China has exploited every single business and trade opportunity possible, and foreigners have bought anything produced by China, because China has learned to produce whatever foreigners want.

China has taken the credit for China's economic rise, but foreigners are still blamed when anything goes wrong with China's economic plans, which did not include foreigners having financial recessions.

The last paragraph of this entry is worth noting:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ming_dynasty
"Even with the Jiajing reforms to document migrant workers and merchants, by the late Ming era the government census still did not accurately reflect the enormous growth in population. Gazetteers across the empire noted this and made their own estimations of the overall population in the Ming, some guessing that it had doubled, tripled, or even grown fivefold since 1368.[237] Fairbank estimates that the population was perhaps 160 million in the late Ming dynasty,[238] while Brook estimates 175 million,[237] and Ebrey states perhaps as large as 200 million.[239] However, a great epidemic that entered China through the northwest in 1641 ravaged the densely populated areas along the Grand Canal; a gazetteer in northern Zhejiang noted more than half the population fell ill that year and that 90% of the local populace in one area was dead by 1642.[240]"

US Democrats are now blocking coronavirus relief bill unless climate change provisions e.g. green energy & carbon footprints are included.
This isn't likely to end well for them..... I hope.

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/03/23/sen-tom-cotton-calls-democrats-fight-to-hold-coronavirus-bill-hostage-over-climate-change-other-liberal-dreams-a-disgrace/

"Republican Sen. Tom Cotton said Monday that his Democratic colleagues are holding up the Senate’s coronavirus bill so they can push green energy policies, among a slew of other “radical” measures.

The Arkansas senator railed against his colleagues, telling his Twitter followers that they were putting Americans’ lives at risk over global warming. His criticism came after Senate Democrats failed to pass a procedural cloture vote on a phase-three coronavirus stimulus bill.

“This report is correct. Pelosi & Schumer are willing to risk your life, your job, your retirement savings for a radical, left-wing wish list that has nothing to do with this virus. Disgraceful,” Cotton told his Twitter followers Monday after senators failed to hash out an agreement."

Hockey Teamsters can't comment on factual evidence with any honesty at all. They make up the rest.

That has always been true.

Trump is anticipating packed churches at Easter.

We're 16 days from Good Friday. New York alone is currently reporting 4,700 new cases daily. The US Health Service will be overwhelmed and final death numbers for the US range from 0.8 to 1.7 million.

As one wag remarked 'What's his plan for Memorial Day, a cremation cookout?'

It is not deranged to observe that this man is a colossally dangerous asshole.

Cue hilarious videoclip.

Phew! Panic over. Climate pseudo-sceptic Anthony Watts has solved the millions dying from novel virus thingy.

A commonly available over-the-counter quinine source exists in Margosa Tree Bark and Cinchona succirubra, Peruvian Bark

Tablets of bark extract are widely available in tablet form, from many sources, including Amazon.com here.

There’s also quinine in Tonic Water, which is available just about anywhere at any grocery or liquor store and also at Amazon:

Tonic water is a soft drink containing quinine, which gives it a bitter taste. Quinine is a common treatment for malaria. Quinine comes from the bark of the cinchona tree.
