Discussion > President Trump

so...

if one is "against Trump"

does that mean that you are obliged to support Biden, Pelosi, Nadler, Schiff, AOC , Omar - and that crowd?

Tomo. Perhaps you should revisit what I wrote Aug 6, 2020 at 4:34 PM Where I mentioned that I have no say in US elections.

you very obviously have a say - just not a vote - maybe though you might be able to vote in a district that accepts postal votes - I hear some folk aren't fussy about who votes as long as they get to lodge the votes - the push for postal voting looks catastrophically ill judged imho.

I see you don't care to offer any picks for Biden's "scientifically literate" running mate - not that there are any among the anointed runners ....

"Daniel Kahneman called it anchoring; I call it tunnel vision. It’s when we depend too heavily on our pre-existing ideas and first pieces of information – the anchor – to inform our judgments. How a problem is perceived, how it is described, how it makes us feel alongside our individual experience and expertise shapes the decisions we make. Anchoring ensures emerging evidence is ignored. Even in the face of this new contradictory evidence, we refuse to change our early decisions."

Do your personal holiday snaps extend to one of Epstein, Weinstein, Pachauri and Clinton? All very keen on similar issues with a bit of Global Warming on the side,

Biased Judge in Flynn Trial may have to explain why he shouldn't be disqualified from the Trial.

I don't think that "may" conditional thing comes into it - what *will* be fun is if Sullivan doesn't play ball :-)

If Sullivan’s motive has been to drag this out for as long as possible, he has done very well so far. This may be the high point of his career, and an excellent way of ending it.

Aug 9, 2020 at 7:55 AM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

as David Freiheit pointed out in the vlawg, Sullivan has indulged himself in epic overreach that has got his notionally Democrat colleagues rather antsy over egregious bias in the judicial system.

The judge has become a player in the case rather than a judge... - anybody with half a brain can see that - and the other judges are very obviously looking to pivot and head out of political kangaroo court territory while still trying to stick it to General Flynn for challenging Obamessiah and his crew.

It still isn't clear to me exactly *who* actually sanctioned the Flynn prosecution - and I'd wager whoever it was they are not keen at all for their decision to get full, unequivocal public attribution.

I think someone's dog ate the Hard drive, and sanitised his backside.

The FBI Agents weren't interested in pursuing the matter, so it must have been someone with a greater sense of immunity.

Steven P Schrage - who he?

There is far too much to tell in a single article. In the next several weeks I plan to reveal what I know, including: the comedy of errors leading to a Cambridge Four member meeting and targeting the FBI’s main surveillance excuse Carter Page; the information given to an FBI source in August 2016 should have immediately ended their investigation alleging Page was a master spy linking top Trump officials to Putin; how a secret anti-Trump source sought one of the world’s most powerful positions that could undermine the president; and how official statements by FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane officials to the DOJ Inspector General were factually inaccurate or wildly inconsistent with other evidence, raising the question of if those officials risked criminal prosecution to conceal their acts.

"the Cambridge Four were probably the most effective tools for Russia’s disinformation campaign to divide America that Putin could have ever dreamed of"

- except Putin didn't have to do anything and the Democrats did it all to themselves.....

Even if only half of this is true, what is the real truth behind the Wikifakery? Probably far worse.

Meanwhile, more on EU hostility to Trump, favouring Chinese integrity just before Lockdown

https://www.smh.com.au/world/europe/trump-is-bluffing-on-huawei-five-eyes-threat-says-eu-trade-commissioner-20200117-p53s88.htmlTrump is bluffing on Huawei Five Eyes threat, says EU trade commissioner
By Latika Bourke January 17, 2020

"London: The EU says Donald Trump is "bluffing" in threatening to withhold intelligence if the UK breaks ranks with the Five Eyes countries and allows Chinese firm Huawei to build Britain's 5G network. The Americans have threatened to withhold Five Eyes intelligence if Huawei is allowed into Britain's critical infrastructure but the ***EU's new trade commissioner Phil Hogan*** said he doubted this was true.

"I think that is a bit of sabre-rattling. I don’t think that will actually happen," Hogan told a Global Counsel trade conference via video-link from Washington DC.

"We can call [Trump’s] bluff on that one, the US laying down conditions over Huawei."

In recent years, the EU has had to navigate its relationship with a growing China amid a backlash against Beijing's trade and technology practices by the US.

Hogan said Europe would never adopt a company-ban when it came to Huawei and said trade had to be fair."

agreed - they're wrestling with "cutting the baby in half" - but Sullivan is sinking - I wonder if they're going to give him a bolt hole.

If Amy Berman Jackson gets the upcoming gig - there will *really* be a rumpus / crisis.

I'd go with Robert Barnes' logic - if "post Clinton" Democrat judges get into this (no such thing as objective truth crowd) there will be trouble - big,big trouble.

- and really not much at all to do directly with DJT - this sideshow has been about political power from the get-go.

I think Sullivan will retire disgracefully, though not disgraced.
If appointed, Judge Jackson may knowlingly approve the use of deceit and lies by White House approved operatives, and reduce US Law down to levels that might interest Amnesty International, if they weren't too wrapped up with their funding sources and politics.

"The committee also authorized subpoenas to the State Department for the production of records related to meetings or communications between State Department officials or employees with ex-British Intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who compiled the now-infamous anti-Trump dossier which served as much of the basis for the FISA warrant applications to surveil former Trump campaign aide Carter Page. The subpoenas would cover documents from June 2016 through January 2017."

No wonder he is denying saying he wanted to be the fifth president on Mount Rushmore. Heads up The Guardian.

Will this require further changes to US versions of events? There have been a few already

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_fatalities_and_injuries_of_the_2012_Benghazi_attack

"Four Americans died in the 2012 Benghazi attack: Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith,[1] and two CIA operatives,[2] Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods,[3][4] both former Navy SEALs.[5][6] Stevens is the first U.S. ambassador killed in an attack since Adolph Dubs was killed in 1979.[7] Senior intelligence officials later acknowledged that Woods and Doherty were contracted by the Central Intelligence Agency, not the State Department as previously identified,[8] and were part of Global Response Staff (GRS), a team that provides security to CIA case officers and countersurveillance and surveillance protection.[9]

Initial reports indicated that ten Libyan guards died; this was later retracted and it was reported that seven Libyans were injured.[10] An early report indicated that three Americans were injured in the attack and treated at an American Military Hospital in Germany.[11]

Since then, reports differ regarding the number of Americans wounded in the attacks. The ARB report released December 20, 2012, stated that two Americans were wounded.[12] In March 2013 it was reported that the State Department said there were four injured Americans.[13] In August 2013, CNN reported that seven Americans were wounded, some seriously.[14]"
