Discussion > President Trump
Some irony there
Reminds me of the UK's Thames Valley Police armed response unit that responding to a 999 distress call stopped a couple of streets away and waited until the gunshots subsided.
tomo, California has some of the toughest Gun Legislation in the USA, but one of the highest gun crime/murder rates.
In the UK, it is difficult for Police to spot a dangerously unstable person, even when he is pointed out to them
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/apr/26/woman-criticises-police-for-returning-guns-to-killer-of-her-mother-and-sister
"A woman whose mother and sister were shot dead by an 82-year-old puppy breeder after police returned his shotguns to him has criticised Surrey police’s firearms team as negligent and dangerous, as the police watchdog highlighted “deeply concerning” failings.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission found two staff members had cases to answer for misconduct following the murders by John Lowe of his partner Christine Lee, 66, and her daughter Lucy Lee, 40, at his farm near Farnham, Surrey, in 2014.
Eleven months before the killings, police received an allegation by Stacy Banner, now 42, the daughter of Christine and sister of Lucy, that Lowe had made threats to shoot her. Lowe’s seven licensed shotguns were removed. Banner subsequently withdrew her complaint, due to his age. Unbeknown to her, five of Lowe’s shotguns were later returned to him, seven months before he shot the two women."

I beg to differ with plod + nutters - most of the time they are simply useless.
A *big* knife armed naked man (complete with an erection) scampering along a canal towpath threatening to rape women and their daughters and rambling irrationally is subdued and tied up by a bunch of angry boyfriends and husbands. The police turn up threaten a bit about kidnap but back off and throw the nutter in the back of the van - take him to the station - give him some clothes and release him.
Knife obsessed schizoid released from a secure unit in Bristol spends first day trying to buy knifes (gets refused + reported by several hardware shops) - eventually gets a knife - goes wandering around suburbia - sees a woman hanging out her washing and kills her.
There are loads more - high time / past that politicians stopped completely trying to suck up and cover for incompetent and delinquent public servants who are reneging on their duties and responsibilities or simply wholly unfit for purpose.
It's NOT difficult

Perhaps by labelling crime as"Knife Crime" and "Gun Crime", there is an assumption by the politically correct that the knife or gun is the entity with criminal intent, and the person in possession of the knife or gun is a victim.
Clipe, thank you! From here:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_policy_in_the_United_Kingdom#Firearms_legislation_in_the_United_Kingdom
some interesting bits:
"Any person who has been sentenced to between three months and three years in prison is automatically prohibited from possessing firearms (including airguns) and ammunition for five years from release. A person who has been sentenced to more than three years is prohibited for life.[35] Application may be made to a court to reverse these prohibitions and this is likely to be successful in relation to convictions for crimes which do not relate to a person's fitness to possess firearms. Similarly, persons applying for licences with recent, serious mental health issues will also be refused a certificate."
The Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988
"In the aftermath of the Hungerford massacre, Parliament passed the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988.[81] This confined semi-automatic and pump-action centre-fire rifles, military weapons firing explosive ammunition, short shotguns that had magazines, and elevated both pump-action and self-loading rifles to the Prohibited category"
1997 Firearms (Amendment) Acts
"Following the Dunblane massacre, the government passed the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1997 and the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997, defining "short firearms" as Section 5 Prohibited Weapons, which effectively banned private possession of handguns almost completely."
In the year Apr 2015 to Mar 2016 there were 8,399 recorded offences involving firearms,
including:
Handgun = 2,157
Air weapons = 3,217
So on 40 occasions every week, someone produces a handgun, which by definition should not be in the UK.

Corelation is not causation but the corelations are fascinating.
The corelations are fascinating beyond obvious ones.
Not to mention the non-corelations. Where to start?

Whether the handguns are of USSR/Warsaw Pact origin, and if their arrival by smuggling has increased with reduced Border Controls?
re: Florida School shootings
Not that you'd be aware if you'd seen UK MSM (esp BBC) - but there were 3+ Broward County policemen who waited outside the school while shooting was happening - we only know this because they have been dobbed in by neighboring Coral Springs police who also attended and were actually the first into the site.
gc
Those reduced border controls ... we are being failed yet again by our public servants. On three occasions coming through the channel tunnel from France I have seen coachloads of British pensioners having their legitimately purchased and receipted goods stolen by UK Border Force while particularly foreign registered battered and rusty vans with furtive and obviously very edgy drivers and passengers are simply waved through.
As far as the gun seizures are concerned I don't think we are being told the real story - much stuff seized at ports of entry is mysteriously undocumented - several thousand vehicles seized over a five year period in the early noughties were "lost" .... and a couple of dozen HMRC bosses were quietly dismissed... I keep hearing about how seriously dodgy the Kaliningrad <> Poland trade is.

Harwich <-> Poland is more direct! Especially for stolen luxury cars leaving the UK in shipping containers.
Meanwhile, is no news the sign of good news to come?

Charge a gun, flee a knife. The first is excruciatingly counter-intuitive, but this is supposed to be good advice.
=====================
Kim: not according to one eye-witness to a mass-shooting (the assailant crashed into a café and began blasting). She normally carried a gun in her handbag, but was obeying local law and left it in the car; her father took the chance of charging. He died, as did the lady’s mother, who ignored an opportunity to escape, and went to cradle her dying husband. So, no – do NOT charge a gun (unless you have one, yourself).

MS13 eh? - a charming bunch by all accounts - I wonder who'll come out against them being "persecuted"? - at least they are easy to recognise - being tattooed as they are.
Having seen a bit of these tattooed gangs in Central America - I can't think of them as anything beyond vermin tbh. I guess they'll get due process - which is a whole lot more than many of their victims customarily get.

Repatriation of crime gang members may see them freed sooner rather than later, only to return with better ideas.
"Charge a gun, flee a knife". Feb 24, 2018 at 5:03 PM | kim
I had never heard that before. Is that something from the era of muzzle loaded firearms (including cannon) and dashing cavalry charges with flashing blades, like the Charge of the Light Brigade 1854?
"The Light Brigade were the British light cavalry force. It mounted light, fast horses which were unarmoured. The men were armed with lances and sabres. Optimized for maximum mobility and speed, they were intended for reconnaissance and skirmishing. They were also ideal for cutting down infantry and artillery units as they attempted to retreat."

Might be old news here...Conrad Black...
Clinton Political Mischief Emerges as Key Tale In an Astounding Drama
clipe, Conrad Black is not a name associated with honesty, but........
"It is all, and always has been, nonsense. The Russian activities Mr. Mueller has attacked began before Mr. Trump had announced his candidacy, were favorable to Senator Sanders and the Green candidate, Dr. Jill Stein, as well as to Mr. Trump, and were almost entirely Internet advertisements decrying the state of the country in terms many Americans would sadly endorse — violence, corruption, poverty, crime, racism, etc. — in a presidential campaign in which the major candidates spent $2.5 billion, and Mrs. Clinton spent the unheard-of sum of $250 million on attack ads."
"This was her version of “going high when they go low”: She was obviously speaking of money spent, not moral tone. And that was without counting the 10 to 12 million dollars the Clinton campaign contributed to assembling the outrageous Steele dossier, which Mrs. Clinton cites in her book as evidence of the ”treason” Trump committed with Russia to cheat her of the election. Trump critics are correct to say that this piffling pseudo-prosecution is not “a complete vindication,” in that it is not an explicit exculpation, but it is a stark confession of the extent of the collusion fiction."
A fiver to the first bloke to ask GolfCharlie to his face :
Why would Steele peach on his Clintonista clients for ten thousand if they paid him ten million ?
Feb 26, 2018 at 9:57 AM | Russell
Can anyone translate that into English?
Feb 26, 2018 at 9:57 AM | Russell
Who said Steele was paid $10m?
Who is now offering Steele $10k?
Who are/were Steele's Clintonista clients? They certainly sound sinister.

Steel is likely pleased it's Mueller doing the "investigation" at the moment. Two investigations running at once wouldn't run well in public especially as they'd be obviously be seen as partisan adversarial stuff - which would to some extent blunt a takedown of the actual Russian colluders. Mueller's job is to run cover until he peters out / has delayed indictments of into "historical" status....
In strategic terms Unless Mueller comes up with something massive I suspect he's just doing ground clearance for and giving elbow room to - a possible prosecution of quite a team of wrongdoers in Federal agencies. Steel will likely be protected by UK establishment unless the crew of whores (Russell's inference) have some scores to settle and he's thrown under the bus.
tomo, Steele may receive some protection from UK secret squirrels for their own protection, and of course the obligatory issues of National Security, Official Secrets Act etc. Under US and UK Criminal Law, has Steele committed a Criminal Offence? Steele has been a Private Dick, under US and UK terminology.
An investigation into Mueller's investigation would reveal who he has not investigated, in pursuit of his predetermined conclusion, and I am sure John Podesta could be very helpful:

Raise age requirement to 21
Extended background checks focussing on MH
ban bump stocks
